Hatin' on: Bye Week
Bye week tucks it's shirt into its underwear.
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.
Bye week tucks it's shirt into its underwear.
Another Fall Saturday and another reminder of just how far this Virginia Tech football program has fallen. I suspected that the post Frank Beamer era (not sure how long of an era I anticipated) would be a struggle, but I didn't think the bottom would fall out. We've all discussed ad-nauseam why we are where we are, but in the end it doesn't really matter. What matters now is how we get back up. So lets collectively highlight any silver-linings and constructive (critical) observations from the game yesterday. Below are a couple from me:
What a game.

You guys so down trodden that you can't be bothered to start an other games thread? C'mon, plenty of good games today.
GO HOOKER!!!!
Hopefully his daddy will stress the importance of the number. Here's to 25 receptions of 25 yards!
LET'S GO!!!
Little late this week, playing Mr Mom and missed my YouTube notification.
As always my takeaways:

Keep in mind, this is not the Cup, this is for the all athletics competition. But man, that's certainly an interesting trophy.

Almost of my most memorable experiences in live viewing of college football have come in Lane Stadium. The rest have all been in other locations, but always involved our beloved Hokies ('95 Sugar Bowl, '05 Sugar Bowl, '16 Belk Bowl, etc).
I've more or less assessed college football at large through my personal lens... everything that makes Lane Lane.... the seating, the production value, the general fan engagement, etc, which nurtured my love for the game and made me believe that this is what college football was... which brings me to my visit to Wake Forest over the weekend.
OK. Sucking absolutely sucks, I don't think anyone will argue with that here on TKP. However, I do think there were some positive things to take from the game today. I won't break those down here in hopes that we can create a thread to discuss those things as I think some positive vibes are always good. But I will say this...
Didn't see one, so I'll start it.
I just got back from my daughter's midday softball game, so I haven't seen any of the early slate of games yet and WHAT THE FRENCH TOAST OKLAHOMA
Article: Hendon Hooker's perseverance leading revival of Tennessee football as family proudly watches on
Really Happy for HH, but reading this piece makes you sick as a VT fan:
Then there was the heart issue before the season. A procedure ultimately revealed there was nothing wrong, but Hooker and his father blame medication from the procedure staying in the quarterback's system creating an embarrassing episode three months later.

Quick takeaways:
So, as some of you may have saw, over the weekend I said that I read some comments from the Sons of Saturday calling for some of the coaches to be fired. Those claims were challenged, and after digging, I have not been able to find the messages that I thought I saw. At this point, all I can say is that I must have seen some fans of them with those comments and mixed that up thinking it was them. That was wrong.
I have retracted the comments that I have made and scrubbed them from the site. Didn't mean to falsely accuse, and for that, I am sorry.
