OT: Pray for Mike Leach
He's suffered a serious medical event and had to be airlifted. Some saying heart attack, some saying stroke but every insider saying it's not looking good and he's fighting for his life. Prayers up for the pirate.
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.

Inspired by a piece Andy Bitter wrote for the Athletic, I thought it would be interesting to see other teams who have drastically improved between a coach's first year and second year, and see if there were any common trends across (a) staff changes, (b) QB changes, or (c) used the portal. Here's a quick and dirty list:

No surprises here! Redshirt senior using his bonus covid year of eligibility. Here's to hoping that he crushes the pre-draft process and sticks at the next level.

Hopefully the staff can find more like him.

Just finished reading the new story on ESPN regarding Luck and his post retirement.

Definitely calls out his desire to teach and coach. With Shaw no longer at Stanford, why not reach out to garner any interest? I imagine it would have a similar Deion boost to everything tied to our O.
Regardless, it is a good read through some of the struggles of a tough football career
Defensive end Eli Adams is the latest #Hokies player to enter the portal. He played 32 games at VT, with five starts. Had 35 tackles and 4 TFLs. He did not play at all last year, though.— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) December 6, 2022

He is attempting to get a 7th year of eligibility.
Since we aren't posting in the mega thread... I think he's an interesting case as a transfer QB. P5 caliber but has had moments where things haven't come together. Is he a potential target for VT to create depth by pushing everyone down? I wont lie, a more mobile QB behind our current line performance would be a welcome addition.
