Gameday live in Blacksburg
For the college kids currently skipping class, Gameday is currently on ESPN live in the 'Burg. If any of you young guns can take a video and throw it up on TKP, that'd be chill.

Due to Thursday night this will be a quick turn, but top to bottom this is the best week to date in College Football for the 2013 season. At least 10 very interesting and competitive games in Week 5. There will be upsets, hopefully starting on Thursday night.
Found myself mindlessly roaming the internet today, stumbled upon a GT fan forum. And what happened?
I lost what little credibility/respect I had for Georgia Tech fans.
Hello. Welcome to a short week installment of "Foe"Rensics. Since we're facing an offense that was last popular when the Cornhuskers were dominating college football, all of this week's facts will be tied to famous Nebraskan politicians from the 1980s1. We're finally out of the out of conference portion of our schedule, and I think Kyle, Kendall and everyone else have shown they're more than ready to deal with week after week of showdowns with the titans of college football, the ACC! And what better place to get things started than Atlanta, GA!
Does anybody know if Torrian has been offered a DC position in the past couple of years? Being (arguably) the best DB coach in the country, I wasn't sure if he had or not (or he just hasn't made them public).
Alright class we're back in session. I hope you did your homework on the spread offense, it will show up again next week against UNC.
This week we are playing the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. I couldn't possibly do this section this week on anything other than their signature offense, the triple option. Let's begin shall we?
The Basics
Well, like the spread offense, the triple option is sort of self-explanatory. The idea is to have multiple options for one single play and the quarterback will make the decision of which option to take by reading the defense. Let's take a look at how they set it up:
It's that time of year again when, in my opinion, we play the second most hated football team in the season. LOLUVA will always be top of the list for teams we MUST not lose to but GT quickly became a close 2nd for me. Not looking to start that debate again but I, for one, cannot stand Paul Johnson and his highly debatable (illegal) chop blocking style of coaching. We will see this at least once in the game:
These past years I have grown to loathe and genuinely hate Georgia Tech.
During the Marshall game, I was wondering why Ethan Keyserling was kicking. Then I remembered Frank Beamer mentioned that Journell was fighting back problems, so I go about getting soaked in North the rest of game. After the game, I contacted my friend (I am not saying his name to keep him safe) that works with the Athletic Department. He said and I quote, "Cody Failed a drug test." He told me that they are trying to keep it under the wraps, but it is starting to leak. I guess we are stuck with Keyserling for the foreseeable future.
It was ugly. It was painful. It was wet.
But it was a win. Kwitchurbitchin.
To the Mark Leal for President campaign...Unless LT is arrested for Airsoft gunplay, or he get's hurt...It's not happening. I'm not saying that LT is better than Leal or vise versa. I'm just saying that this staff believes that Logan is the leader of this offense, and the best possible option for QB #1. He may very well be a better tight end, center, kicker, or whatever. If he is, that's where he'll play next year in the league. Just drop it.
Just went through Rivals 2011 recruiting class and only 11 out of 21 of the signed kids are actually still on the roster.. not good and not a bash but just calling a spade a spade.
We are lucky to be 3-1, our D is stout but we have very few skill players on offense, if any, honestly speaking.. yes we have Edmunds, and others but really not a go to guy. Adjusting your expectations of our offensive production might be a wise thing to do.
yeah .... we were some of those alums leaving at halftime .... to restock! I love these non-sold out games because all the unused tix let you leave at halftime and come back to scream for two more quarters.
What a game - I'm sure my shoes will dry out sometime this week.
I hung in there through the entire game, sans poncho, despite being completely drenched and freezing. My fingers were pruned and my hands were blue. People around me said that my lips were turning purple and it was freaky. Coming away with a win made it all worthwhile. It was truly an unforgettable game. Here's my story & some purely observational analysis.
Oh yeah, let me just get this over with really quickly: I wrote a somewhat-popular post two years ago about how North Endzone is embarrassing (back when I sat in it) - you can click my profile and find it easily. I won't complain any further, because everyone is complaining about it now, and the behavior will never change.. It's so sad!
I don't know where to even begin. Every facet of this game was such a resounding WELP that there really isn't one part I can focus on to talk about improvement.
Since E60 is just about the only thing that ESPN puts out anymore that doesn't suck, I figured I'd share a clip from this week's episode. I'm sure you all remember the show two-a-days. And by you, I mean people that are younger Hokies since no adult would be caught dead watching MTV. Anyways, this episode chronicles the rise and fall of Rush Propst, their football coach. Interesting watch if you got 15 minutes to kill.
Well, I proposed this idea, so Ill put the first write-up out there to see what people think.
If youre new to The Key Play, or just Virginia Tech and football in general, then I hope articles like this will help you. In the brief time Ive thought about things to include, Ive already come up with quite a bit. I can cover anything from the history of Virginia Tech, traditions, to basic football information. I am by no means French or Mason so dont expect earth shattering information, just basic stuff that gives the novices out there something to look for during game day.
So lets start with something relevant to our opponent this week shall we.
The Spread Offense
The rumors are true. Beamer's website says this is the beginning design stages for a "Hokie Stone" helmet. #Hokies pic.twitter.com/jUqOhbWzQE— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) September 19, 2013
Had to share this:

Hokies got a nod this time around in Key and Peele's East/West Game sketch with Cartoons Plural. The squad from the East is funny, but the West is pretty meh. Check it out!
If anybody needs me, I'll be at the screen printing shop this afternoon getting "Plural" put on the back of my old Marcus Vick jersey.
