No lead is safe. They were up 28 with 9 minutes left to play when they ran the fake punt (only 2 more than we were up when we ran the 2pt conversion, with virtuallythe same amount of time left).
For the record I don't have a problem with us going for 2, or the fake punt
Judging by the responses to this question, looks like we're all good with Cutcliffe and Duke last year.
Going into the 4th they were up by 21 at the start of the quarter. Without the 2 pt conversion, we were up 26 with 9 minutes to play.

Watching from home in Kill Devil Hills with my folks, came down for the weekend.
