I think about about these videos at least once a week.

How you doin', Randy?

RIP Randy.

Yeah ESPN+ essentially lost all live sports once ESPN debuted ESPN Unlimited. If my kids didnt watch Disney a bunch and my wife Hulu, the bundle to just get ESPN Unlimited wouldnt make sense.

Yeah seeing alot of posts saying going forward if NCAA wont fix RPI then schools will be forced to just not schedule the mid-week games because most are against local low RPI teams that are played due to convenience rather than SoS. Could make it damn near impossible for mid-major to get an at large bid going forward even if they have the talent.

I straight up dropped espn+ this winter. A 20% price increase for significantly less programming made it an easy choice, and tbh I haven't regretted it once

And adding to my frustration is the realization that once again, I'm not going to be able to watch the game. ESPN+
can kiss my ass.

Yeah, I'm all for playing the game while understanding why we won't. Totally the fault of the selection committee in my eyes. If beating a shitty team will cause you to lose favor, shitty teams will have nobody to play except other shitty teams. I'm pretty much just permanently pissed at the NCAA anyway, this stuff doesn't help.
This is Marshall, folks, and as much as I laughed at their football players carrying Leftwich down the field rather than bringing in a sub, when we don't play them, I'm going to root for them. We have historic ties to that program and shouldn't piss in their punch.

Have to assume we did but proceeded anyway. No way Marshal wouldnt have put that back at us.

I'm cool with shrimp and some fishes without the soak. Walleye, for example, just don't need it and I've yet to eat a bad shrimp. I have tried the regular milk, like you say it takes longer, but I usually have some lemon juice handy, while regular milk we just don't use. I made a mistake a couple years ago and forgot to soak some cobia. My wife spit the first bite out and wouldn't eat it. When she asked, I told. Won't happen again, I assure you.

Warrick was clothing at Dillards, Jameis Winston was crab legs (among other things). It's definitely hard to keep all the "Bowden School for Kids who Don't Steal Good" honor roll straight.

I think its ripe to be gamed as there just aren't enough plays in a season. Most teams have 200+ plays which if evenly ran is 5 snaps in a season

I don't think generative AI is meant to be predictive in the way that the previous wave of 'analytics' are.

I think it's more of a better/different kind of GA. GenAI could help with play design, ie; Player X is undersized, etc so consider running plays 3-5x per game where he's in matchup against player Y.

We should have played the game. Even without knowing this, we should have played. Knowing it now, it really is in poor taste to cancel. Especially after they gave us that last football game to be bowl eligible. We definitely owe them one. I hope we did not know this was the case for Marshall's team.

Shitty part for Marshall is apparently our game had been designated Senior Night for the Herd and they arent able to make it up another night as they have no more home games.

i soak all fish/shrimp I'm going to fry in buttermilk, or even regular milk (just much longer), before frying

I had always pretty much made do and eaten whatever I caught and felt like cleaning, but fresh and small were the guidelines, oh, and fried.
Got older and started releasing the bulk of my catches and started targeting food fish on occasion only. I always liked the flavor of some fish, but didn't like the consistency of the flesh, i.e. crappie or speckled sea trout. There were also some fish too fishy or oily for my taste, though I'd smoke them, like bigger bluefish, or stripers, and smoked spanish mackerel are edible and pretty decent for snacking.
One day long ago, a fellow Hokie turned me on to his method for getting his kids to eat fish that involved mainly soaking the well trimmed filets (get the red out) overnight in buttermilk. He made his own with a cup of milk with a tablespoon of lemon juice stirred up well. Still fried, but the buttermilk drew out oil and fishy flavor for a cleaner taste, but it also firmed up the flesh, making mushy fish firm and all without negatively affecting the flavor.
I have also found that pretty much every time I've had fish served in a quality restaurant or cooked by a true chef, I love it, so I do blame myself for not learning more about how to eat more fish in more ways than fried.
Maybe in my next life?

So I've kept the random Almaco Jack I've caught off shore my entire life. I usually hate them. Figured it just wasn't my taste. I'm in Hawaii now went to the fish market and just asked for whatever the freshest thing they had was and a guy walked in with a fish so I said yeah that and didn't recognize it they called it Kanpachi. Told me 5 minutes skin down 1 minute meat down.

It was fantastic.... Guess I finally learned I suck at cooking jacks

Sauces inform me he's been at football camps very frequently lately instead of attending events such as junior prom, etc.

Very interesting. Not gonna lie though, this sounds like something you'd hear about in sports several years ago but with 'AI' subbed in for 'analytics'. It sounds like statistics and predictive modeling. Im going to guess there is still a person or team of people using software to do all this, right? There isn't some AI being that is calling the manager in the dugout like hey its time to take out pitcher x and put in pitcher y I assume. Not trying to discredit AI capabilities or anything. Just sounds like they're using a good tool more than the team is now run by artificial intelligence.
Apologies if im interpreting this completely wrong

If I could bargain I would go back and have us swept in the first round... I adopted him on my birthday and what is coming in the next couple days will unquestionably be the hardest thing I've ever done but he's in pain and scared all the time now and there's nothing the doctors can do to help.

We brought him home today so our daughters would have the opportunity to spend some time with him and say goodbye before it all happens. It's been a rough time in the household

I think its ripe to be gamed as there just aren't enough plays in a season. Most teams have 200+ plays which if evenly ran is 5 snaps in a season. RPOs will become more prevalent to make some one wrong on defense. It might remove variety yo play calling as it will be a copycat system.

Also you actually will have to use it which Seattle would had a 2nd superbowl had they trusted analytics. They ran a play that they had used 5 times before that season, I believe never in goal line situation and the only positive yards waa once they had a gain of 1 yard from it. It should have been out of the playback, but 5 times isn't enough data. This wasnt sone fancy AI just basic film review with done math in top that's says never run that play. But the data is limited, LLMs are having issues of running it of data to train them on, they ste going to run out really quick in the NFL (not saying llms are used in this application, just comparing the lack of data issue)

So, I was able to take a few minutes and watch a little film...

Most of his film is of him playing offense (RB & WR). There were a few isolated clips of him playing defense... He's a really good athlete who has incredible control over his body. He seems to be as quick as he is fast without a lot of wasted movement (very good for a DB). It is hard to get a read on any sort of technique as it relates to how quickly he will be ready to play on the defensive side, but this is one of those old school Beamer recruits that seems like can be a "plug and play" kind of kid in the secondary. Great pickup!

It can't possibly do much worse than Stinespring or Cornelson did here. Heck, give it a shot.

Somehow, that does not seem like a good trade. Losing a good dog is an awful feeling. Hope they have had a great life and that you enjoyed the time with them. May the rest in peace.
