Florida also hired Spurrier from Duke. I think they won a few games, after that decision.
Justin Fuente took your mother out to a nice seafood dinner and called her afterwards to say what a lovely woman she was. He also loves all puppies and kittens, gives candy to babies, and agrees that Moe's is better than Chipotle
Paper airplanes are the same as spitballs from the back of the classroom.
My son commented that the jab-step part of the run made it a "Madden run".
Maybe Notre Dame at the end of the season?
Florida hired Urban Meyer from Utah before Utah was a Pac-12 team and that worked out.
The Hokies are good at football.
my ideal situation would be to be inexplicably unranked at 11-1 coming into the ACC championship game and then knocking off a top ranked team to get a #4 ranking for bowl season.
Amazing numbers. The safety Saturday was particularly cool.
Frankly, there shouldn't even be any rankings before mid-season.

I believe that what we have here is a failure to communicate.
I'm saying that it's It's extremely rare that a player in the Louisiana Top 25 (as in the best 25 in the state of Louisiana), doesn't go to LSU, if they get an offer. Hence, they have the state locked down. On the other hand, we've seen top talent from Virginia go to Clemson, Bama and FSU, far more frequently than we like.

Who? Oh you mean the guy who orchestrated this gem:

It's amazing how the last few years have affected our perception. If we had had started ranked, we would almost certainly be floating around the teens right now. However, because of the last few seasons we really have to "prove" we belong in the rankings.
Yep. My wife and I took our boys downtown to the CFB HoF in Atlanta this past spring and a plaque with Frank and the term "Beamerball" is in their exhibit regarding major innovations in the game of football. IIRC, it's right there with the proliferation of the forward pass, major changes in offensive & defensive philosophies, and the like. "Beamerball" doesn't literally mean VT football with Frank manning the helm anymore...it means achievement in special teams play.
FTFY:
Remember, these are the same guys who said OU, LSU, ND and USC were top 10 teams before the season started.
I have quietly liked Ken for years even when Dadi was getting the attention, Ken was getting the results.
optimistically, yes, but I'll know a lot better in two weeks. At that point, we'll have seen how we hold up against better competition (UNC) and Miami will have played FSU. I don't see two conference losses for Miami, honestly. So, if we can't beat them head to head, we don't sneak in behind their backs.
Excise as a verb can also mean "to cut out, as in a tumor."
Bud has always wanted to make teams one-dimensional, but has always had to do by shutting down the run/short passing game without much help. I can help but think that when teams get down by 20++++ it tends to contribute to making them one dimensional, and therefore does have an effect on the defense.
I don't mind seeing a coach let the 2nd or 3rd string continue to run the O, as long as they aren't taking deep shots down field or running trick plays. It's coaches that keep the 1st string in the game, when they are blowing out an FCS team by 60 (e.g., Spurrier) that I don't like.
If they can't stop the 2nd string, then put in the 3rd stringers. Think any coach is going to object to Click completing a bubble screen, to a walk on 4th string Sr who's only played 15 plays in his career?
Yea, 4.6 40 is pretty good for a QB. What was always hilarious though was Blaine Gabbert had nearly identical measurables at the combine.
Good, now we're talking about something more reasonable.
Salt the earth, lamentations of their women, etc. etc. I think we're on the same page.

I think we honor him more by remembering him accurately enough to poke some fun, while remembering what he did for the program.
