Hahahaha. Nice one.
Hazell thinks it's funny to ask the opposing coaches to check out Bofa.
When they ask "Bofa what" he grabs his crotch and yells "Bofa Hazellnuts" and high fives himself.
Anyone with the #sauces on this and why VT does not have branded buses?
I'm in the same boat. I started Manning because he does Manning things. Half way through the season I feel Tyrod is gonna be the one to start though. Peyton is not going to be able to keep getting hit the way he has the first 2 games.
Darrell Hazell asks if you "have enough club" when you wander into the woods beside the fairway on the 13th to pee.
Long gone are the days of 3 passes for 76 yards and a TD. But if he can still hit intermediate which he proved last night he is still dangerous. But he is certainly not the same player he once was.
Darrell Hazell is that guy uses the urinal next to you when no one else is in the bathroom.
The key is going to be timing. Like Mason said, Motley has the physical tools to make all the passes. The reason Brewer was starting was that he had a better grasp of the system and the timing to get the ball in the right spot.
Now, that said, even though Brewer looked really good against OSU, there were still many passes that weren't perfectly placed, especially early on.
First team practice reps are great, but game reps are what really seems to tune a QB's internal clock.
I think we'll see a bit more read-option against Purdue early on if the passing game doesn't pick up right where it left off. If Purdue's DL is going to be super aggressive, Mot has the ability to do some real damage on the ground either giving or keeping.
I wouldn't be surprised to see us start with that, and then drop in a pass off of it. Someone will have to help me out, but I remember LT3 doing that beautifully one game. Can't remember when or against who, but I only remember seeing it once and it worked great, so I'm guessing it was while Stiney was OC.
Thank you, I think we still got a great team they just need to see what works for them
I was born and raised in Blacksburg area but have been here since leaving Tech. Love the Triad.
Well a big part of that is displayed in Motley's pass to Ford for a TD.
That's a ball that Knowles just wasn't catching often enough. When you come down with 50/50 passes much less than 50% of the time, and worse, those passes turn into INT's, you tend to lose your spot to the guys that go up and get the ball.
Darrell Hazell used to have two Z's in his last name but dropped the second Z to make it more asymmetric.

Anyone else get the feeling that we're going to see a much better offensive production from Motley tomorrow with a full week of practice ala second half against Furman? Last week's shortened preparation seemed to really show in the first half from a mental and physical perspective. Talent obviously took over in the second half but I'm at least hopeful that a full week of 1st team snaps, and overall rest coming off NOT OSU could do wonders.
Hopefully our run defense improves. It's a little frustrating to have such a highly touted D coming into the season to see them struggle to contain the run on the edge. Plus if we can't do decent against lower talented teams we are going to struggle mightly against GT and possibly UNC.
I can see this game going either way (with us winning of either one of course) but I can see it being a 7-10 point game and I can see it being a 21+ pt win. Of course if we can't contain Appleby in rushing this game may turn out similar to Maryland a few years ago. One of those games where we seem that we should be putting them away at any moment but for whatever reason we can't and their QB just wiggles his way down the field to keep their drives alive. Those are the most frustrating losses in the world. But we seem to be aware of his mobility so I'm sure Bud is and is game planning for that as well. Plus if we shut down their run and force them to pass I think it will be a long day for them and we get a 21+ pt win.
Yeah, I see us going away from the slow roll for our DE's this game and unleash these guys to pressure the QB.
This results in sacks, fumbles and INTs.
The Purple Pirates don't speed option so, no need to practice it anymore, we stop playing that on defense and shutdown their offense. Go for the mesh point instead.
And according to french's writeup, Purdue's DL is aggressive. Would like to see that exploited with some screens to Rogers, Trey and McMillian.

Its hilarious how many people (including myself) had the same conundrum. I went with my head over my heart and stuck with Manning and it looks like I made a good call. I hope Tyrod makes me feel stupid though. I love that guy.
Because there's just so much excitement in the activities between the 1st and 2nd quarter...
