I agree it's a bit lame, but I don't think it kills excitement any more than mascot races during the 7th inning stretch do.

If anything it reengages the less passionate fan by drawing their attention back to the field a provides of a change of pace. It's also pretty entertaining watching kids dance around with giant sousaphones on their shoulders.

Let's keep in mind that this is all for entertainment. Even the football game.

Well, it's not like Louisville deserved to have the ball that last possession. How the refs missed that facemask call on the 3rd down Watson keeper is beyond me.

Manning is incredibly overrated. Nowhere near the QB that Joe Montana or John Elway was. I equate him with Jim Kelly, except Jim Kelly was less likely to blame his teammates when he choked.

Definitely agree he's fading, but it's a new offense. He still ended up with a pretty good game and as long as they continue to improve they'll be just fine. The question mark for me is the offensive line. If those guys can gel and keep Peyton clean, which they didn't last night (albeit against a great chiefs front 7), the Broncos will be just fine.

Did anyone go back and look at the sack before the last play? In real time it looked as though the QB for Louisville was outside the pocket, not down and threw the ball beyond the line of scrimmage. The whole last minute and a half was a disaster on both sides.

Other things to watch- Indiana State scored their first touchdown on a fake wide receiver screen where the "blocking" receiver slipped past the defender into the open space behind him. The Hokies have that in their playbook. Last season, Brewer lead Hodges a bit too much when they ran it against Ohio State. I believe Ford had a nice catch on a fake screen against UVA, and Byrn had one against UNC.
