I had a few sours today at Wicked Weed's Funkatorium. Good stuff.
04 and 07 were both very memorable seasons. I just remember Bryan Randall becoming such a great team leader during that 04 season. At the beginning of the year, no one was very high on us, Marcus was suspended, and no one gave us much of a shot without him. He became one of my favorite Hokies that year, leading us to a conference title and BCS bowl in our first year in the ACC. Everyone thought it would be FSU and Miami's to lose, but we proved we were the power in the ACC.
Yeah, very uncharacteristic of Frank. As another poster said, if you want things properly executed by the punter, have a punter, not your starting wide receiver, punting. DC was a total team player and didn't deserve such.

Yeah, that was really Tyrod's coming-out party. He had some good games up to that point, but he dominated that evening.

It doesn't matter if she was walking up and down I-81 with a sign advertising her services, she is a minor. She is not capable of consenting to any sexual acts. It's a very clear cut legal issue.
It just seems to me that they way its presented, only the guys are the ones breaking the law, which may not be entirely true.
If they had sexual relations with a minor, the guys were the ones breaking the law. Regardless of what led up to the acts or what they thought they knew about the age of the girl. As an adult, it's your responsibility to be 100% sure that your partner consents to any sexual activities. If you aren't 100% sure that your partner is of age to consent then you haven't fulfilled your responsibilities. Is that inconvenient for young adults trying to hook up with strangers? Yes. Is that an excuse for breaking the law? No.
Fett Man, I know your head and heart are in the right place and you aren't trying to blame the victim. I felt those points needed to be highlighted though.
*sigh* can you not just leave us to boob and splooge in peace???

I have 2 boys in high school and the hs girls today scare the shit out of me. I am fortunate they have learned some chivalry but the texts I see from these young ladies are disturbing if you are a parent.

I spent a couple days in Columbus earlier this year. Had planned on seeing a good bit of the city, but I got really hung up around the Brewery District. It was fun for a craft beer lover. Stopped by this brewery that I think had just gotten up and running, Land Grant Brewing Co. Really good Oatmeal Raisin Stout and IPA, and the whole theme of the brewery revolved around the Morril Land Grant Acts that created OSU, VT, etc. Really neat place.
That being said, Blacksburg trumps just about anywhere.
Oh, leave it to you to not accept an honest attempt at equivocation! Six days in Columbus does not an opinion solidify, but I liked it. If not for my buds and the Hokies in Blacksburg, I might lean toward Columbus, but I'm no city boy, and to be honest, I have been in several big cities folks would be happy to put down but that I found fascinating. NYC, San Francisco, Denver, London come to mind, but we ain't talking about them. I just think that it's a big wide wonderful world out there and if someone thinks VA is the best place in the world, it's a personal opinion, not likely to change, but "it ain't necessarily so", in my humble opinion. Better? Only if you think so, but that's good enough.
I guess, though, to seriously answer your playful question, I'd have to say neither, overall, was better. Just different.
Edit: After time to think, I'd say that I think of all of the places I've lived, Oregon was the best. Yes, better than Virginia. If I could have found decent work out there, I'd still be there. Alas, though, one of the perqs of home is the networking that can help one get work, among other things. Just my opinion, though, and I'm sure I've said more than enough about this. Leg to you, though, for making me think about it.

I'll agree with you on most of what you said about NoVa, but I have to draw the line about being compared to New Jersey. I have lived in NoVa since 1968 and the last 18 years in Clifton. We still don't have a stoplight in town. You can't even say that about Blacksburg. You have to pick your spots. But I will get the hell out in by 2018, 50 years is enough.
Anyone that thinks we would have played for the 2007 National Championship over LSU is completely forgetting and/or ignoring the very clear agenda that was in play that year. That loss we had in Baton Rouge eliminated us from contention in the eyes of the voters.
Quantico is hardly northern virginia. Move inside the beltway and give it a try. If you're not into museums, tons of bars and restaurants and somewhat urban living I get it...but Quantico could be in Nebraska as far as I can tell.
Cedar Point is great but seriously - how many times does one frequent an amusement park after the age of 16?
Put-in Bay is cool - Lake Erie can be nice at times. I prefer the ocean and the big bay myself.
