$150k of the $275k that gets paid to the school directly end up in Fancy Gap Frank's purse. Interesting that the school loses a good portion of that direct payment of Frank was fired. Also the payment schedule is not shown past 2015, but the contract goes to 2017, what's the deal with the remaining 2 years?
how is keeping him running VT's name through the mud? Its a misdemeanor not a felony... this is not national news outside of Vt fans this is extremely minor.
Not saying what he did was right but this won't hurt VT's reputation.
Probably the only way that things like this matter
Washington Warthogs does have some alliterative potential.
Can anyone clarify any details of this situation? I feel like the specifics have been swept under the rug. We've had some less-than choir boys on the team in the past, but at least we knew what was going on. Just because the courts find someone not guilty doesn't mean they should be representing VT. He is still doing two weeks in jail, so he did something...
I am very confused about the laws surrounding this incident and what this actually means. Anyone here have a law background who can explain this legally? Is he not a sex offender now? How was he not found guilty of anything by the school conduct committee?
Lastly, how do we feel about this guy being on the team still?
They also stopped allowing fans to be re-admitted to the game if they leave.
So there might be some logic to it.

# | Report: Suspended Virginia Tech RB Shai McKenzie Expected Back with Hokies in August Just get rid of him. This is dumb. There is no reason to run VT's name through the mud for one guy.
Honestly we'll probably stay at this level of recruiting until Beamer retires. Not that he's a bad recruiter or anything, but it's very easy to recruit against coaches that might retire any minute now (see the meltdown at SCAR with Spurrier). Winning and losing don't matter as much as coaching for recruiting, its about the sales pitch, which the coach is a central part of (see Tom Herman).
Best case, we hover around this level of borderline top 30 classes until we get a new HC. Then hopefully he can sell the "new" program like many new coaches do.
The only part I don't get is why Redskins are getting thrown under the bus but the Cleveland Indians get to continue with an even more ignorant name and a blatantly racist logo. I'm all for a name-change at this point, but you'd think it would go across the board.
Eh, its going straight into London's pocket anyway
WVU has already implemented this and their alcohol related incidents have gone down considerably at Mountaineer Field.
Of course profit is the number 1 reason, but the results seem to suggest it might actually work.
This whole situation makes me uncomfortable.
Better up your tailgate game. If you ain't dinking, you sinking.
WTF! UVa gets 1.575 million. I would think they should be paying Nike!
I think we're all really hoping that this was the correct decision....
Not bad traffic? Travelled 270 between 315 and 23 then onto 70. Or Polaris. Or 670 and 70.

She quit, but don't worry, she still identifies as a NAACP employee

# | Bitter blog - Countdown to the ACC Kickoff, No. 13: Cardale Jones or J.T. Barrett or Braxton Miller or ... Pretty good for someone who isn't a Buckeye fan. Miller is a guy you can't game plan for because of his improvisation. He is the most dangerous when a play breaks down. The second he takes off to run, he is a threat to take it to the house. He's Vick-ish that way - if that's not offensive. The best way to describe his passing is at the end of the 1st half vs. Wisconsin in 2013. He throws an wounded duck that should have been intercepted by the DB except he had hands of stone. On the next play he throws an absolute dart 45 yards for a TD. He's like a box of chocolates when he throws the ball. The staple play in the Urban Meyer offense is the zone read. Braxton reads that play wrong about half the time, but because he is a freak, he makes it work anyway most of the time.
No one has ever run Urban Meyer's offense with more efficiency than JT Barrett - not Tebow, Smith, or Miller. The guy was responsible for 45 TD's last year (34 pass, 11 run) in 11 3/4 games. The VT game aside, he is the best at running the entire offense, using all the weapons available, scoring more, and punting less. He doesn't have the explosive play-making ability of Miller, and he can't put a ball in a 12" window 50 yards downfield like Jones, but he has the touch and accuracy, and ability to read defenses, that allows him to convert that 3rd and 7 pass.
Cardale can't run the lateral option. He ran it once against Wisconsin, fell on his butt, and that entire concept was taken out of the playbook. What Cardale can do is throw the ball way, way downfield accurately, and he gives you the ability to do power, straight-ahead running with the QB - which is a great compliment to power zone running plays from the RB.
I know last year's game gives Hokie fans a dim view of Barrett, but if I was a homer on this board, I would want to see one of the other 2, and what would be the worst scenario would be Miller at another position, with JT being the main distributor, and Cardale adding his element intermittently. It makes so much sense - which is why I have no confidence it will happen.
I'm sure those 15 days will really rehabilitate him.

And Cal had Aaron Rodgers when we played them. Also an extremely high caliber QB
Unless you are Cody Journell
It's true that Columbus is sprawling. But the mess is Tysons Corner.

On a recent business trip to Denver I stopped by Great Divide Brewing Co. and sampled some of their wares. Everything is highly recommended, but they had their 21st Anniversary Ale on tap and it was my first exposure to sour ale. It was different than any other beer I've ever had, but strangely delicious. Wondering if anyone else has any suggestions for sour ales?
