I would've broken up Tier 3 into two parts like he talks about doing, but it's hard to quibble too much with what he's got. I'm a little surprised at Louisville being so high, considering he only has then as 30th in S&P+ (behind VT and Miami) but I can see the rationale there I suppose.
Duke's about where they should be- they were lucky to be a 9-win team last year and they lose quite a bit. Unless their front 7 on defense and passing game on offense suddenly get better, they should take a step back this year.

Even if we drop the opener, I have a feeling we have a chance at playing at a level alongside the top teams in this conference by the end of the season. We really just need to stay healthy and let the boys play, and I think we are going to surprise a bunch of teams this year.
I don't think a conference title is realistically out of reach this year. First time in a few years I've been able to say that without throwing a bunch of qualifiers out there.

True. Appears that if he gets a degree from Lackawanna, he can transfer to a D1 school (as long as he's spent 1 full year at JuCo).

The JuCo circuit gets a lot of one year players from D1 who go back to a different D1 school. They're just bragging a bit that the player they enrolled was VT caliber

I think it has a great chance at being a fun one. We just need to make sure all the pieces are together come September 7th, and it could be a really fun season

If you're the optimistic type, you could make a case for either of these also being included in Tier 1. All Virginia Tech needs is a mediocre offense, and the Hokies could roll to the ACC title.

Ford is heading to Lackawanna College, a JuCo in Scranton PA. Once he does his two years there, he should be able to transfer anywhere with two years of eligibility remaining.

Holy S&#T!!! i got the 40DWT in 10K for like $450 or so in class of 2002! prices have more than doubled!? That said the Hokie stone is awesome, and i would have done it if it were available. I also couldn't tell you the last time i wore my ring. i got fat, it no longer fit, i stopped wearing it, now i'm back to my "playing weight", but no longer interested in wearing jewelry beyond the requisite band on my left ring finger...
question on the Hokie stone, can you have it engraved? ie VT logo or fraternity letters?

Probably has to do with the increased speed and impact that occurs during kickoffs as compared to punts. i'd like to see whichever RB is #2 or 3 back there.
Miami has been playing under their talent level. Well, except for last year's game against VT.
It's a reasonably simplistic analysis, but it's difficult to fault it much.
He has enough disclaimers in it to account for most of what can happen in a season.
The top 2 tiers seem about right to me. Pitt seems the most dangerous of the tier 3 teams.
maybe Duke deserves to be Tier 2 considering their recent success rather than an always disappointing Miami.

Oh I think it'll be a situation where they lose early, probably to GT, but the way the rest of the Coastal shakes out, we can't officially say they are out based on records. Largely because they don't play us until the penultimate week, so that tiebreaker won't exist until late.
