Great piece. I grew up with stories like this from my dad, who graduated and played football as part of the first integrated class at Graham High School and then played football with the first football player to integrate Emory & Henry (Scrapper Broady.) His stories about playing Grundy in the face of essentially a lynch mob of a crowd still frighten me. I can't imagine how those young men handled that kind of ominous threat, but SWVA is a much better place thanks to their bravery to want the right to be treated equally.

I don't think so either. I think we are just looking for someone who could come in and catch on quick. Ford and Durkin will need time to develop. Leal is still questionable about how he will handle the O, however, I think the showing against UCLA doesn't reflect his true ability. Motley is the one I am looking forward to in Spring ball. I think he may be something special.

Given the fact Tech signed 3 QBs, and the report that Tech reached out to Max Wittek, it seems as if Loeffler really wants another body to be a part of the QB competition this fall.

He definitely would be a good pick up. Almost his entire family played Big 12 football, could help open up new connections to the Southwest.

He said on 2/14 that he was going to visit an ACC school other than Clemson in two weeks and it seems that ACC school is going to be Tech. Maybe he commits this weekend?

Antone's original move to corner was not because we needed more corners. Maybe that's why he stayed there, but I doubt it. This article explains how Bonner and Exum were flip-flopped due to Exum's difficulties getting the secondary set up for plays. They wanted to put him in a position where he could play 1 on 1 with guys and not worrying about everything else, at the same time, Bonner seemed to have a better head for the game and therefore Torrian Gray though he might be a better fit at safety. It wasn't because we needed more corners.

I am very impressed with our recruiting efforts now. I really think with this newer group of coaches on O side of things, we are headed in the right direction.

Beat me by 9 seconds.... alas. Anyways, interesting to see us loading up on QBs, trying to make up for some misses over the years. It looks like Lefty & Co. want to be sure no one is thrown into the fire before they're ready.

Man, what a change in recruiting strategy we've seen the last couple of years. Go for it! The more talent the better, for our coaches (unlike lolva)
