Yeah I was really proud of how the way he managed his answers after some potential tricky questions. He's a true Hokie and I'm glad he was involved in the process.
QB. Randall turned a corner with the GT game that year and was very dependable down the stretch. I think LT had a chance to turn the corner in the Duke or BC games and failed to do so.
Not that LT was the reason for loses, but like Randall, he could have led us to a couple more wins.

This team is going to be battling with that 2010-11 Wake Forest team for worst ACC team of this century. It's bad, really bad. Our offense is a complete joke, there is absolutely no movement. I just can't believe that we have an ACC basketball team that either doesn't understand the offense they're supposed to run or, the more likely scenario, doesn't actually have a set half-court offense. Guy are literally standing around watching the guy with the ball. MOVE! Get yourself open, for the love of god! Every time JVZ got the ball in the post last night there were 4 guys watching him. He's not even a great offensive threat and they were watching him like he's Shaq and is guaranteed to score.
I believe, starting when Shane arrived, that we no longer observe that particular rule. Coming out of the SEC ranks, he saw what we had to do to recruit with the Big Boys for Big Boy talent.
The additions of Loeffler, (the late great) Grimes, and Moorehead also moved us forward on a much more aggressive recruiting plan. Stinespring finally got the support he needed from CFB (with the backing of the new coaches plus Shane) to ramp up our recruiting efforts across the board. Replacing Grimes with Searels may actually turn out to be an upgrade to Grimes on the recruiting trail.
EVERY coach is recruiting now, including CFB who is much more active visiting games (football and basketball) to watch recruits play than he has ever been in the past. At this point in time, I don't think cold calling a recruit who is committed elsewhere is out of bounds. CFB may not like it, but I'm betting the new coaches are doing it anyway. If we want to play Big Boy football then we absolutely have to recruit like the Big Boys.

So the moral of story is that if Eddie is good, the rest of the team is bad. If Eddie is bad, the rest of the team is okay?
Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand adults trashing 18 y/o kids. These are 18 y/o kids making huge decisions that will impact the rest of their lives. I'm just as interested in recruiting as most guys and always hope we get the recruits we want. Regardless, I'm not going to trash a kid because he changes his mind, it's his life not mine. Although I hate reading this, in the scheme of things, ND may be doing VT a favor.

Taylor was a huge hitter but this is correct. Definitely not a class act. But I think Kam is going more for on the field performance.

Not sure how old you are or what you actually remember about Sean Taylor, but he was NOT a class act. Ask anybody who isnt a redskin fan. He was indeed a hard hitter but was not a class act.

# | Men's BBall: VT 8-11(1-6) at Boston College 5-14(1-5) 7 PM ESPN3 I don't know if it was the towel, but other than Eddie, they looked like they had the TimeCop tied to their ankles and were wearing oven mitts while trying to shoot the ball.
Team shot 34% on the night but Eddie went 8 for 13, while the rest of the team was 10 for 50 or 20% from the floor. They also went a whopping 12 for 21 from the free throw line. Eddie was also 3 for 6 from behind the arc, while the rest were 1 for 8.
Somehow BC only had two free throw attempts in the second half after getting to the line sixteen times in the first half. The Eagles hit 14 threes on the night as no one seemed to be able to get out on defense on the perimeter.
The one other big difference in this game was how often we threw the ball away. BC had eight steals on the night that led to 15 of their points. Just an all around piss poor performance for everyone not named Eddie.
3 and 4 yes. On 1, most teams run a motion/ continuous offense (tight flex, whatever) designed to get multiple guys open in any given stage of the motion with set plays are for special situation generally- still I agree with you in that there is no identity to the half court offense- pick something and do it well for crying out loud.. On 2, this was a very good (like near 75%) FT shooting team early on with fresh legs and the decline is due to fatigue, physical and mental and just plain lack of concentration.
I don't fault the effort most games- until last night. BC was a total train wreck of horrendous execution and effort. Would have made Ricky stokes proud and if you recall, that was truly awful basketball at the time.

His resume shows great promise, and his background and practices show he can reach out to Hokies both young and old.
Except the raceway won't because that's part of the agreement made.
