I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one of them moved to DB since Jefferson didn't enroll.
Thanks for that. Most of those came at a time where I couldn't watch on TV, I had to listen on the radio so, there is a lot there I missed seeing.
I searched "whit babcock virginia tech" on YouTube, if that is easier for some to access (and avoid crashes). A few interesting vids (first two made by TSL, but hey, they're free):
-Prepared speech portion of presser.
-Kevin Jones' comments on selection process.
-Tommy Tubberville's remarks on his departure (positive).
MrsEMC couldn't remember who Kevin Jones was, so I found an old video called "The Untouchables", which led to another good old unrelated video featuring 'top 10 hokie plays of 2004'. (you know what a trap youtube is...)
For those looking for the video, I couldn't get to HokieSports.com videos from where I was at (xbox 360), but searching "whit babcock virginia tech" pulled a few good ones:
-Prepared speech portion of press conference
-Kevin Jones' comments on the selection process
-Tommy Tubberville's comments on his departure (positive)
First two were apparently produced by TSL (watermarked) but free on YouTube. As an aside, Mrs. EMC couldn't remember who Kevin Jones was ("pregnancy brain"), so I showed her a video called "The Untouchables".
Sad to see a Hokie walk away, but thanks to TJ for being a proud member of the VT football team and best wishes.
Stinespring is not a short dude - over 6'. Football players these days are huge.
YES, over last 10 years name your FB programs consistently winning 10+ games. Uh, I Think VT would be part of that list. Yes as I finished article, all I could think of was WHY WHY did I waste my time!
+1 for Seth can't come back. BB program need a complete reset of culture. So have a new AD should facilitate that reality. Based on what were are hearing about Babcock I feel much better about the future of our BB program because I think he will bring positive change to current state of the Hurrying Hokies!
Point #1 has already been covered plenty of times. Harrell and Hyphen were both on the way out regardless. There's no way we bring Seth back, apparently he was a cancer in the locker room. He was driving away both players and assistant coaches. I don't care how good of a coach you are, that's a recipe for failure.
Salty tears
Email him? You should probably work some video of Cartman mocking Kyle in there as well, just for good measure.
This can't be overstated. One of the little things that definitely had a big impact.
Three tickets have been purchased. I am just sad that Coach Cav won't be there so I can remind him how I said Teller would be a tackle last year.
I've gotta say, reading a lot of the stuff on ND's 247 page where they have an update on McKenzie (nothing terribly new, just looking at his options pretty much), I'm so darn proud of Hokie Nation and TKP. Even through Brady Taylor's decommitment and the uncertainty with Harrison, the vast majority of posts have been understanding and reasonable, with very few to no personal attacks. Not to toot our own horn, but *toot*.
Just to recap some of the things I saw on that board (and to be fair, I did see one guy wish McKenzie the best wherever he ended up. Tip of the cap to that guy): Saying McKenzie has mental health issues/is bipolar, he's a nutcase, he should have his scholarship pulled for even thinking about changing his visit even though he's been to ND before, they can't possibly imagine why a recruit would ever drop everything when his "dream school" offered after "not giving a shit about him until 6 days before signing day," saying he won't make it at ND anyways, etc. etc. etc.
My point here, besides taking a small jab at a fanbase I believe to be just a few puffs of smug away from disappearing up their own nether regions, is to say thank you and congratulations, Hokies. Please continue to support the kids that check out our great institution and recognize that their college decision is theirs alone and has absolutely nothing to do with you or your opinions.
Also, he served as the scout O QB for GT week and did a hell of a job. Giving the defense such a good look is one of the reasons VT has performed so well against Paul Johnson's offenses recently.
No scholie - he was a walkon.
Good luck, TJ - wish you well for the future.
You know what would make me happy? A Hokiesports video page that didnt crash my browser 75 percent of the time. Would it be that hard to have an adequate video setup?
HokieSports has him only playing 3 plays vs WCU this year. Redshirted and then spent most of r-Fr year on scout team nursing a wrist injury. No indication of scholarship or not but I'm guessing probably not.
He wasn't on scholarship was he?
That dude is such a waste of time. I wouldnt even follow him.
haha ohhhhh tj I hope he enjoyed it, nice guy he was my neighbor freshman year
Hate to have him go. Good luck in whatever he pursues in the future!
You forget that Tennessee fills 100,000 every single time they play. Neyland is one of the largest stadiums in the country and full every game. If Tennessee has any momentum coming into this game, they would EASILY fill 150,00 by themselves.
That right there is what I see as Techs problem. Unlike VCU and OSU they are not in large urban areas, unlike some other large schools they don't have a massive alumni spread across just one geographic area. When people say they are from Ohio, you assume they are OSU fans, from Alabama, Auburn /Bama. When people ask about what state your from and you say VA they have no idea VT, UVA, VCU, ODU. Tech has no brand identity as the sports school in VA. Tech needs to reach out to the rest of VA and the other areas and gain support not just expect it to be there.

Clearly the author does not have her finger on the pulse of the VT community at all. I haven't seen any momentum for a "fire Beamer" movement except from maybe extremist idiot fringes.
