Both Bradshaw and Holland are rated as 3* players. After watching their film, I'm very surprised they weren't ranked higher.
Jay Wright. Even though he is making 2.29 mil.... One can dream, right?
Dr. Ballein will make the numbers work to satisfy everyone including the NCAA.
This could be like our 2004 corp next year. Royal,.Harper, Morgan, Hyman, with Clowney as the old man. Now we could have these guys to add to the Stanford-Byrn tandem. I like it.
No hosers eh?
Read this on Isaiah McKenzie (free) Wow, I can't imagine a kid going through that. I really hope he becomes a Hokie. The thing I have noticed is that Keihn has reached out to him on twitter and they have both had tough lives so far but they have both persevered to become superstars.
I need to set up twitter to send me push notifications on my phone when Moorehead tweets
Unfortunately I think you have to give JJ at least one more year and if he improves give him a 4th. Coach K had a few losing years, not as bad as JJ, before winning which was pretty common until the 90's. Once he is fired (I doubt there will be improvement) here are my picks/advice for WB
1. Greenberg--He had this program on the bubble in the past and if he hadn't been fired the 12-13 season would have featured a Big3 of Erick Green, Montrezl Harrell, and Dorian Finney-Smith. I think that would've been a tourney team. Sometimes it takes a while for coaches to get it right and his time at ESPN could be a positive learning experience in X's and O's and as a people person. Buck Showalter says he's a better manager now because he learned so much in his time at ESPN. Greenberg's ESPN run also gives him greater visibility which betters recruiting. He had started getting the big names but every CBB fan now knows who he is, he's on TV every day during the season. And he loves VT, his kids went here, he has a passion for the school I think that would get the best out of his players and the fans
2. Mike Cronin--WB will definitely go after him, they already have a relationship. We could pay him more than Cincy. This would be a great hire, he is a really good coach but he may really want to stay at Cincy rather than rebuild a team in SW Virginia.
After Greenberg and Cronin
Bruce Pearl--NCAA violations, expensive
Shaka Smart--never going to happen, has the best bball program in the state
Gregg Marshall--apparently from Roanoke, expensive, why leave Wichita State which now has a full house every night and a shot the Final Four every year
Jeff Capel--coached at VCU, coached Blake Griffin, now coaches under Coach K, Oklahoma outside of Griffin bros years wasn't very good, Coach K disciples haven't fared well
UMass coach--whoever he is is good
Karl Hobbs/Lonergan--Hobbs got GW into tourney coaches at UCONN now, Lonergan will probably have them in tourney this year
Lastly we could follow the VCU model and hire up and coming young coaches (Jeff Capel, Anthony Grant, Shaka Smart) and maybe one will eventually stay. Whoever the people at VCU who are behind that model, we need to find them and hire them. We tried to copy VCU when we hired JJ but obviously we're not as good at it as they are.
If I see that choppin wood tweet this weekend, I'm gonna lose it.
Yeah, Babcock will probably fire him before but won't announce until after the season is over.
I just realized if New McKenzie and Other Ford both commit, we'll have seven (7!) WR commitments in this class. lolWUT.
I agree, espn is always sturring the pot about coaching changes, especially when it deals with historic coaches like Beamer. They live for drama because it sells.
Gosh, I freaking love Aaron Moorehead. I hope he never leaves.
Well, he's got one more spring without the younger guys (and he's only a r-freshman himself) to prove he deserves a scholarship and some reps with the starting offense.
Damn! Forgot about them! Whoever is the QB for the coming years should be a very happy man!
Not to mention Holland in there as well. Only a two star, but I think he's 6-4.
I bet Meyers really wishes he had taken flight this year. With his untimely injuries at the start of last season, and the lackluster performance during the year, his stock may never get to climb. Even with his experience in the program , he and the others need to take notice to all the influx of talent we have coming in. Competition's about to get real, playas. Amazing how much can change in one year!
Holland and Bradshaw aren't slouches either - they are very good.
It makes me all giddy inside thinking about it.
Mainly cause he may not ever leave VCU. Considering how bad the bball program is I don't blame anyone for only thinking realistically
Of course! How could I forget? This easily could end up being one of, if not the, best WR recruiting classes in VT history
what happened to committing "on the spot"!? man...
As well as Cam Phillips.
Not saying I hope we don't land Javon Harrison, I REALLY do but if he doesn't come here now assuming Ford and McKenzie both commit I really won't be mad at all.

And then...draw play
