I know Eddie has always had the ability to be great, but why did he suck so much in the second half of last year? If he could have played half as well as he is now during ACC play with Erick Green we would have been a decent team.

We have a really plausible shot at the Peach bowl, if Clemson goes to the Orange Bowl. That is pretty likely since they'll be in the Top-14 and ACC ties. Then it's between Duke, VT, and Miami for the Peach Bowl. Duke isn't a big football school so the committees would probably enact the within 1 conference win rule which would set up Miami or VT. I think we travel a bit better than Miami and if it's a decent SEC team we would get the Mid-Atlantic ratings that Miami probably can't since an SEC team would already get the Florida viewers.
But either way I'll probably be there. El Paso is an 8 hour drive or a fairly "cheap" flight from DFW. My uncle lives in Orlando so it'll be a nice visit. And a friend who wants to go has a sister that lives in Atlanta. ATL requires the least amount of finagling since it would make a nice 3 day trip from Richmond, so fingers crossed.
I laughed at this, but then looked down at the orange and maroon plaid VT pajama pants I was wearing...
No. Best game ever period.
Maybe his ascot was chafing him
Don't think so. All reports I heard were about how bad he hated Shapiro. As a matter of fact, I remember some speculation that Nevin Shapiro played a part in his firing due to Randy trying to keep him away from players. Donna Shalalalala on the other hand
I'm gonna paraphrase just a bit here:
Roth: "The student section here at Chestnut Hill is one of the more colorful around"
Burnop: "That's what you get from a bunch of Catholics"
Roth: "We'll be right back with Roanoke Catholic High School graduate Mike Burnop"
I don't think that side note was necessary or appropriate.
Lol...seven people were very upset by this comment. Odd...
Benedict was in instead of Gibson. I really hope with Miller graduating, they slide Benedict over to RG where he belongs and hopefully Gibson takes control of the RT spot.
Eddie was lights out tonight. Barksdale played well too. Ben should be back for Miami and Smith is possible too. Good win all things considered.
This is huge considering two of our top three players were out. Glad to see Eddie sacked up and put tha team on his back doe.
I believe I replied to you on the page but yes they're all current students.
Interesting that he posted the same exact tweet from his CavsJournal account.
Yall take it easy on @HokiesJournal. Hes a good dude and gives the #Hokies a fair shake. Hes wrong & a filthy Wolverine, but hes solid.โ Kyle Bailey (@TheClubhouseKB) December 3, 2013
And yes, before you ask, I'm just trying to rile you guys up. It's been a slow Tuesday...โ Hokies Journal (@HokiesJournal) December 3, 2013
its like we said at beginning of year, this team might surprise. we're not going to win too many ACC games, but we'll win a few, which is enough for me given the talent and experience level
We're just hitting our offseason discussion stride early.
I submit this link of "What to Do" and "Where to Go" at our neighbors in C-Ville's prestigious college town.
It's not just the douche factor.
C'ville also has terrible humidity, which is strange, given the campuses aren't that far apart. Humidity in and of itself isn't all that bad, but add in roaming crews of of sockless boat-shoe sporting trust-fund Reginald's and you have the recipe for a stink that rivals summer in Paris, Franch, the dog-poo & stinky-cheese capital of the world.
Who knows where all that moisture comes from. It's almost as if there's a completely localized source of precipitation up there that makes everything uncomfortable and sticky.

(not my meme btw... I think that was an original by someone here on TKP though).
...and we let em off the hook.
Well, there may still be some positives in this season yet. Hopefully they'll just keep working and improving.
Liked it. Are the other players students also? Love the trumpet.
That's what I said. The guy thinks college town means proximity to local wine.
Yeah, it's the same thing with "Coach Speak." You rarely hear coaches say the truth at press conferences. A terrible team is always said to have been "One or two plays from pulling ahead" or "Always plays a tough game." It's all PR garbage.
The thing to remember about these lists is it's not really about who is the best player at that position, it's who puts up the biggest stat lines. FSU's and our defense as a whole was really good. This lead to spreading the glory around, instead of like some of the players on the list who piled up the stats on lesser defenses. A bulb looks a lot brighter when it's in a closet than it does outside at high noon. Hell, Kyle Fuller is projected as one of the first CBs drafted and he's nowhere on the list, albeit because he was injured for the past few games.

I still wish they'd put up a little bit more of a game. This whole stomping them year in and year out is fun and all, but an exciting rivalry game (in which we don't give them every chance in the world) would be nice. I mean right now beating them feels like me smacking my mom's lap dog when he jumps in my lap during thanksgiving dinner. Yeah, you got him to stop but even a baby can do that.
