I think ODU makes the JMU job harder. Some of our guys if willing to take it on wouldn't be bad choices to run the show. Whether they would keep the crew from last year remains to be seen ; ). I would fire one so fast it would make his head spin.
And truly a shame. Hopefully it will provide some motivation for the young kids to go out and really prove their worth next year. (Not saying they didn't this year!) Some more motivation for Bud to fire them up.
Bravo.
KState mimics our program minus the kickass D.
Agreed. You don't have to sink to Fairchild's level but you don't need to publicly take it either. It does make a difference to recruits that coaches stand up for their team and school. It tells them that coaches will stand up for them too if necessary. It's a strong message but one that needs to be done respectfully. Shane did that.
My preference is Stiney.
But if he finds greener pastures, my preference is Ogeron. Heard he's looking for some stability. Who cares about youth if you could get that guy for your recruiting coordinator.
I don't agree. What did Shane do wrong with the Fairchild douchery? I think Shane has every right to respond how he did. He didn't say anything bad or demeaning towards Fairchild or LOLUVA. He just let it be known that he finds that disrespectful. I do too. Everyone should. And sometimes you need to make sure that everyone knows you feel that way. It's not a troll because this is business, not the internet. If someone made an inaccurate public statement about my company I would certainly issue my response in a level headed, factual manner. I believe Shane did that.
However, in some ways I get the feeling that Shane has been tasked as the mouth piece for VT coaching staff on social media. Like his comment about the Spring Game attendance. But I believe this is a targeted strategy by VT.
I have to respectfully disagree. It wouldn't be a blow AND our best recruiting is winning.
Vick-like highlights, and would look great in the slot.
If Wille Bryn is the paperboy, this guy can be express delivery!
It appeared to me that our defense learned its lesson from MD, and had a spy on Watford practically every play. French showed one example above of a good running lane when the spy had to run off in coverage, but I see didn't that happen many times.
Like who [sarcastica]?
Or better yet Lee Suggs or Ken Oxendine. Both actually have coaching experience at the collegiate level as well as playing experience in the NFL.
Hopefully you're right.
Also, as per the article on Techsideline regarding the possible 2 for 1 hire from KState, I think if this is the new hires for Pres and AD they know exactly why you don't F with a stable coaching staff. What they have been doing at KState is building a program that in many ways mimics VT. The KState Pres is a VT alum as well and his wife's family is from Bburg. IF this is the hire and I think the speculation in the article was very well presented then I don't see them bringing in someone to shake things up.
I'll be honest I won't miss him and I consider it VERY laughable that he's the one expressing interest, not JMfU. I don't have a ton of respect for him because for over 10 yrs he had the opportunity to sack up, go to Beamer and admit that he's not the guy to run the offense. I'll give him a smidgen of credit for recruiting (though that itself could even be debated), TE coach and relating to players, but that's it. I don't feel like this program will suffer if he's gone. If anything it may improve. That's just my ten cents.
I believe Steger, Weaver and Beamer foresaw the issue with a new AD and President coming in and that is why Beamer is the so-called Special Adviser to the AD for 8 years after his retirement. I imagine that part of that deal is that Beamer will see who gets to take over his program more so than the AD. I am sure all parties will need to come to an agreement but I seriously doubt that the new AD/Pres would be able to bring some outsider in to shake things up. That could mean that outsider would want all his own people and clean sweep the coaching staff. I see ZERO percent of this happening.
Oklahoma at Oklahoma State -10.5
Baylor -13.5
Missouri
Stanford
Florida State -28.5 I'd take em by 40
Ohio State -5.5
Just because someone isn't a good at designing an offense doesn't mean they can't be an asset to a team. I wouldn't want Dabo designing my offense, but he'd doing a pretty good job as head coach. Similarly, I wouldn't want Stinespring designing my offense, but he's been a valuable asset to our team.
Im struggling to make the connection to how this fits in, but +1 anyway cuz its always hilarious to me
Roll damn Tide...
It's just not worth it. Multiple lives ruined, one lost. All over a damn football game! A game for christ sakes!
Indeed. I hate to cherry-pick stats, but the first thought that came to my mind was: Duke gave up 58 points to Pitt. We gave up 9, and 6 of those were in garbage time basically.
VT has the best defense in the ACC, but apparently no one is worthy of first-team honors. Unbelievable.
I agree with everything you just said. Hell, Big Beamer said everything but "UVA cheats in recruiting" in his book. You can't always take the high road for the sake of not hurting feelings. If I'm a 16, 17 year old alpha male athlete I don't want to see a schools coaches roll over when they're being bad mouthed.
there was a similar incident after the 9-6 lsu/bama game of the century of the year. that time it was rival fans though.

Even the Tomahawknation site noticed that "anamoly" and thought both FL State and VT were screwed. But Duke Football.... I'm jus sayin!
