Don't care about no rankings. Just Ws. Just f*kin win, baby!
thats pretty awesome but i'm not sure we're the 19th best team in the nation. if we played florida it might be a 6-4 grinder.
Coale had the best hands of any VT receiver ever, and he ran great routes, he played fearlessly, and he is still open, and it will always be a catch. The only thing he didn't have was height, can't coach that or Gentrify it either.
Noticed that really yesterday.
I was counting stripes to see if that last punt really did travel almost 60 yds in the air.
The older gentleman next to me expressed his appreciation that I was really paying attention to the game and we were pointing out details to each other. Second game he sat with us, he's been fun to sit with.
I can deal with that
The complete poll is here for anyone who is interested: http://collegefootball.ap.org/poll.
Agree. Wang does not go hard when handling balls...
I've got several other corners in there so I didn't bother to edit haha
Also there was that one play yesterday in the beginning of the game where it looked like he didn't know what the play was and was standing still at the snap but the receiver ended up dropping the ball.
I agree. I particularly liked this quote:
It might not be the way fans are used to things working around here and certainly isn't the way Scot Loeffler envisioned his offense, but if it's the only way to move the ball, Tech doesn't seem averse to throwing it short instead of running it.
Loeffler is certainly committed to the run, but he also knows that to win games he is going to have to resort to different strategies because the run isn't working. Huge difference from stiney..
I think, because it is the end of the game, they are in a defensive shell with over the top safety help. Basically keeping the big plays underneath. I don't like that Foster does that but basically he plays aggressive for 3.5 quarters then kind of sits back. That is why there are so many yards in garbage time.
#19 is a good place to be with a bye week coming up.
How about Brandon Flowers' hit on Drew Weatherford? FSU game in fall 2007. Found the whole game from Hokie Tapes. Live shot at 59:21.
Or this random Kent State kid?
Current AP Poll has VT at #19.
So of course we see when Kyle gets beat by it. I just don't know if it's a huge hole in his play, or if we just don't see all the times he covers the double move?
They don't show many replays of tight coverage where the ball isn't thrown his way.
I'm not snarking -- I really don't know.
saw this on Youtube and decided to share
I have noticed empty seats the the east student section every game this year SMH. Nothing pisses me off more....you have some 20,000 students and they are giving away tickets FOR FREE! Go to the game you imbeciles!
rematch verus bama in NCG....
It was a clerical error but noticed it and left it as it seemed an accurate moosteak.
I enjoy being the exclamation point on the end of their disappointing season. Keeping them from winning the ACC Coastal was sweet, but truly finishing their season off is always a highlight for me.
Not saying it'll happen, but it would be great if we could squeeze a few more decent runs out of our Backs after the Bye. But at least we've found a formula to move the ball. The offense hasn't turned the ball over once since beginning ACC play, and that might be the most important characteristic of offensive progress. Logan is really playing great ball right now. But Cody helped us finished 4 drives with points.
The defense just needs to continue playing at a level. Yes, Hughes has been invaluable.
I know exactly what you mean...
But my hatred is so strong for UVA... I take pleasure in them doing horribly all year.
Kam, absolutely. He's merciless in the NFL too
Mizzou was already ranked in the AP, and they'll definitely jump over us (rightfully so). But with all teams from 16-19 losing, Fresno St. and OK St. idle, and Texas Tech barely beating a cellar-dweller Iowa St. team, there's no reason to think there won't be significant shuffling in the 15-25 range. I'm not thinking we're due for any sort of big jump just for beating Pitt, but there should be some upward movement. The totality of Michigan's struggles should be enough to drop them pretty far, if not all the way out after struggling against Akron and UConn, then blowing it against PSU. Guess we'll know soon enough...polls are out in about an hour!

These polls have just gotten so biased it is ridiculous. I have zero issue with VT at 19. But to have A&M jump Louisville after almost losing to Ole Miss? Georgia still in the top 15 with TWO losses, and the overtime win over Tennessee? LSU at #6 with a loss to Georgia, when their signature win is over the same team that Miami also beat, yet is only at #10? No doubt the loser of Clemson vs Florida State will drop out of the top 10, because obviously any one loss SEC team is better than an ACC team with a loss to a top 5 undefeated ACC team. The polls are just comical these days.
