I thought the game tying TD was a horrible call, but watching it again it was an awful route by Byrn that gave the defender a chance to pick it off. But as soon as you saw the formation, you knew it was a pick play with Byrn going to the flat. He'll, we run it in flag football as our two point play.
I agree with Mason. Very vanilla playcalling today. They ran Logan more because running the option dive with the end crashing and ignoring Logan was like bashing your head against a 3 foot thick cinder block wall and expecting it to fall down. The more the defense had to respect Logan, the more the running game worked. But still, this looked like a very vanilla game plan.
I thought Beamer said he was disciplined 'this (Saturday morning.' Doesn't the team stay at a hotel together the night before the game? If thats the case, the only things I could imagine is that he missed curfew or was smoking the ganj in his room. Time to let him lose in my opinion...
I kept saying during the game that there was one good thing that Stinespring did, and Loeffler has completely disregarded that. But, in my eyes he has made numerous improvements, and I'm cautiously optimistic to see what it looks like by the end of the season.
Sadly college has no preseason so there is no safe way to see another QB unless you are doing mop-up duty. It is really hard to say leal is a better choice, but starting him at the same time we start ACC play would not be a good decision. But I mostly agree here.
yup, looked better on the field. my nephew, who's 20, texted me during the game that the unis were "sick as fuck." so i guess that lends a little credence to the whole young people (recruits) like all the crazy uniforms argument.
I know. We tried. Polly is much easier to deal with.
Point 1: yes, but do you go with the devil you know or the devil you don't know? Beamer will (almost) always choose what he knows over the unknown, and no matter how the debate goes on, no one knows what Leal is capable in game time at this point. But I would say that Logan showed flashes of something great in 2011. GT and Miami games were the stuff of legend, hence 3rd&Logan terminology, however he has since never replicated that. Something happened in the summer of 2012 between Whitfield and O'Cain that had serious impact on his throwing motion and ability to throw a simple pass. He was doing this in high school even, just simple pitch and catch. So I would say he has played AVERAGE at best, but has potential to be much better.
Point 2: Yes I agree with this. Definitely double edged sword but like I said I don't think these coaches are shy to play younger more inexperienced players over seniority if they prove to be better. You see true freshman all over the field, so I would not say Logan is only in there because of Beamer's loyalty.
Point 3: Russell Wilson. Thinking big picture does not mean you play the younger guy that will lead your team in future just to give them experience. This is why Tom O'Brian is sitting bitch at LOLUVA.
And when Dave has decided, its damn near impossible to make him change his mind
i was pretty cold by the end of the game. then again i was wearing a jersey, bball shorts, and tall socks. people behind us offered me and my roommate ponchos, my reaction "ponchos, we dont need no stinkin ponchos". BY FAR THE MOST FUN IVE HAD watching a sloppy football game ever. miami 09 was better just because of the beatdown on princess jacory
just like the bama uniforms they looked much better once they were on the field
Yah agree. I too fall somewhere in the middle of both terms. How about "Good QB lover"? And if you saw any of my comments during the Marshall game post I was definitely seeing small picture... but we won and I can rationalize why Logan was in there
there couldnt have been more perfect way for that game to end than a fat guy touchdown. words dont describe how perfect that would have been
The entire body has to be passed the line. His arm was passed but I think his back foot was still behind so it was the right call.
I didn't like them at all online but then seeing them for real I actually really like them.
when Marshall scored that first touchdown was it just me or did it look like the QB had crossed and through the pass just after he passed the line of scrimmage? I reviewed it on DVR and the ball comes out of his hand to hards beyond the line of scrimmage. I was surprised they didn't even look at it.
it wasnt just the north it was the entire stadium. and you dont have to yell.
I'd be insulted if you didn't
They are. I saw a few at Bull & Bones after the game, they were doing their Marshall chants and generally seemed pleased at their team's performance.
For Those Who Have Passed, For Those To Come...Tradition NEVER stops!
GO HOKIES!
I hope you found some for cheap, instead of paying $50 twice for it. But either way, that's an awesome idea!
you should have made one of frank getting after the refs. that was awesome.
As one of our two guys playing Taps, I really hated doing it. Taps isn't supposed to be for halftime at a football game, it's damn near sacred, and I was pissed when McKee said we were doing it. That being said, I'm glad it was received the way it was.
Beat me to it. This is what I get for having to research http://www.thekeyplay.com/filter/tips

I came back for undergrad 2.0 starting this fall. I highly recommend it, if you can find an employer in the NRV willing to pay for it.
