I am not making ANY money on this
That, good sir, is a travesty. I know you do this for fun and out of the passion you have as a Hokie fan, but the quality and ingenuity that both you and MStrather put out deserves some compensation.
Signed,
A staunch capitalist.
The title of this thread alone made me cringe

Saw the title of this post and thought you had done a trailer for tailgating season and I got REALLY excited.
I think that '01 Miami team was the best college football team ever. From Wikipedia:
Overall, 38 members of the team would be selected in the NFL Draft. As of 2012, they had earned an astonishing 41 trips to the Pro Bowl: Ed Reed (9), Andre Johnson (6), Vince Wilfork (5), Frank Gore (4), Jeremy Shockey (4), Jonathan Vilma (3), Willis McGahee (2), Chris Myers (2), Clinton Portis (2), Antrel Rolle (2), Sean Taylor (2), Bryant McKinnie (1), and Kellen Winslow II (1).

If Grant Noel could lead us to within a dropped Wilford 2point conversion of overtime against '01 Miami then anything is possible as far as I'm concerned.
She's an idiot. Her opinion is worth nothing.
Not saying her predictions aren't "fair" but her logic makes no sense. I agree in that she is being generous saying we would score 20 points. I imagined should would have said about 10. It's her statement about how a few months ago we would have had a fighting chance and now, that's gone. So basically, when there were more questions about who played the offensive line, would Exum return, and who would our starting RB be, we had more of a shot. Logic isn't her specialty.
Some great video of Ford throwing at practice, and preview of their game tomorrow against Conestoga Valley.
She says she'd be surprised if we scored more than 2 TD's and then predicts us to score 20 points. I guess she's expecting to be surprised?
True. I liked it for baseball, but I won't like it for football.
I'm all for hating on HD any chance I can get, but to be fair this isn't anything but the truth. By her standards for us, this is actually extrememly generous.
Yeah well our baseball team also wore these:

No offense to the throwback Astros style, but I hope we don't see anything like that anywhere near our football team.
Roll Hokies Roll!
And our baseball team, basketball team, and wrestling team all wore grey this year. Nike's not gonna stop there.
I appreciate the preview!
Although, the 'one-on-one against amazing receivers' and 'Stanford tight end' comments did make me feel more nervous about the game. I really, really wish Antone and RVD were healthy and playing. One thing about Nick Saban, if he finds a weakness he will continue to attack until you stop him.
WANT. where are you tailgating?
I like them too. The grey makes the maroon darker and more menacing, the orange pops out and looks better with grey.
Same word, different meanings.
That is precisely what I envisioned (see comment above).
I think that will look good, but worth all of this anticipation? Meh... Derivative of Hokie Stone? Kind of a reach...
I'd be happy with this solution, but heres hoping for something more exciting.
As mentioned many times, the injury to X. Adibi led to most, if not all, those plays. Adibi was phenomenal on Bush until he got hurt.
I did some digging on this grey uniform rumor.
Virginia Tech Football's official Instagram account posted the picture of the helmets two days ago. A kid by the name of Jordan Long was the first to comment on it and asked, "What jerseys are we wearing?" Then, a girl by the name of Hayley Roulston responded with, "I heard they are wearing grey." A kid by the name of Chandler Lollis then responded to her with, "That would be awesome but I haven't heard that." Hayley wrote back to him, "I heard from my brother, he is a trainer with the football team."
How do I know this happened? I saw her comments posted two days ago. I read them a few times. Since then she has deleted her comments, but the responses to her are all still there.
Hayley's brother is indeed a student trainer, and has been one for the past two years. My best guess is that big brother told the family and Hayley (being in high school) didn't know better not to tell anyone.
My honest opinion: Grey uniforms.

Too much "research" for a jersey color? No such thing.

But wouldn't our chances be better with Exum and the other guys that got hurt this offseason?
I see what you're sayin. I just don't think, out of all the dumb things that HD says, this is something to pick her apart about.
