Thanks for the replies guys. Solid points all around, especially in so far as raising our profile in the Northeast from a recruiting standpoint, and if it gets us more money on our media deal then that's great. I'm a more than a little worried that we're starting to see the disparity in conference paydays already so anything to close the gap is a benefit.

My initial #goacc thought was that it would be nice to be making our own network to cash in on all those eyeballs in NYC, even if only a fraction of them actually watch CFB. That arrangement is making the Big-14 $TEXAS bucks now. Upon closer review this is more of an action on the part of FOX Sports peddling their interest in the ACC games down to one of their subordinate networks. Increasing access is great.

But still, the thought of giving money to the Yankees in any form makes my skin crawl.

That had to be the Karma balance for the 2004 @ GT game where we rode the opposite wave, misery to start and then holycrapcomebackwinwheeeeeeeeeee for the second half. I was at both games: the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.

I agree but I think getting in to the SEC would put VT on the path of reaching UGA & Alabama's level. Miss St.'s coaching staff and tradition doesn't compare to ours...I guess I should of added that in my initial post.

i'm gonna go way off the reservation here but salty snacks > sweet snacks any day of the week for my money. y'all keep your diabetes, i'll go with the high blood pressure.

classic nacho cheese doritos at the top of the list btw

I've said it before, but I think being able to pitch VT as the northernmost SEC school would really improve our recruiting not only in VA, but MD, NJ, PA, etc... "Come play against the best, and be close to home."

Obviously, none of the cake people on here have had one of my wife's pies.....and cheesecake is a different category unto itself.

IMO and have talked about this with a few of my peers. Now is a time that is extremely important for both VT and UVA to make it clear there is a difference between them and ODU. ODU is in the heart of the 757 and it is where the majority of the talent is located in VA. ODU is being held back on some levels by not being allowed to expand their campus but if those walls were to break down and they can start investing in being a bigger, better campus I think they can become a very good program. Mind you this would be probably 10-20 years down the road but it could happen. If UVA crashes and burns (I believe this is highly more likely than VT becoming horrible) I wouldnt be surprised if ODU surpasses them to be the 2nd best school in the state.

I think you are missing a couple of key points. A&M wasn't that bad at recruiting before, always pulled in decent talent. When they jumped to SEC, it did help bring it up, but that wasn't the only reason. They were always a mainstay and tough team. A&M though is probably the most convincing arguement of what would happen if we did join the SEC though, since I feel like we are in the same position they were in the Big 12.

UK is riding the Mark Stoops wave right now. He is pulling in the kids, not UK's history in the SEC.

Mizzou is just, well Mizzou. They have had blips of greatness, but nothing consistant, so joining the SEC didn't help nor hurt.

If you lump cheesecake into the "cake" category, cake wins hands down.

If only we were given the chance to play in that game! I feel like we would have been able to get revenge for that Thursday night game.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Keep that SEC ring and sell it down the road because it is one of a kind and then get a new ring with ACC on the side. Best of both worlds.

Also on 360, hold the right trigger in and press up on the right analog stick to see the graphics of your play on the field.

Ahh darn, but yeah that's what I will probably end up doing.

Which part did they remove? I was informed that you can still add stadium sounds.
