At least he didn't pull an Aaron Hernandez. Good god is that guy a moron. I know it's innocent until proven guilty and all but from the sounds of it that guy is toast.
Well put -and with the best of intentions...
Being a father of four, there's a high probability one of my monkeys will end-up in prison so let's keep it cordial. Plus we don't want any potential recruits' parents seeing this and slandering HokieNation (or The Key Play, for that matter) in 'monosyllabic slurring' with rampant mis-spellings and what-not on Twitter...
Totally! And I probably didn't stress enough that I didn't feel anyone here had already crossed a line (towards distaste, etc.). I just saw the possibility to easily cross the line with jokes on this subject matter, and felt compelled to make the comment I made. Hope I didn't make you or anyone else feel bad!!
Very cool. I feel comfortable with our offense down the road, but this year I'm certain that the defense and special teams will need to carry more than their share of the load.
great read, thanks for posting!
I remember when a VT Sorority (I think maybe KD, Alpha Phi) misspelled Virginia on a shirt design back when I was in school.....same spelling. We had some fun with that one.
I just found this article on ESPN Insider that I thought was interesting:
Frank Beamer hopped in his car Sunday and drove. He was desperately looking for cellphone reception. A coach is never truly on vacation, and recruiting truly never stops. Beamer needed to receive a phone call from his future quarterback.
Andrew Ford (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) wanted to commit to Virginia Tech two weeks ago on a visit, but when he finally decided to make the call on Friday to pledge to the Hokies, he could not get a hold of Beamer. He finally got a hold of quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler and just in the nick of time. Loeffler was boarding a plane.
I told him Friday night I was committed, and we talked again [Saturday]. He was freaking out trying to get a hold of Coach Beamer, Ford said.
So Beamer got in his car Sunday and started driving until he picked up a signal on his cellphone. When he finally got one, his phone began ringing.
He said I made his Fathers Day 100 times better, Ford said. I got a hold of him, and it was definitely worth the wait.

how is he announcing who is eliminated? smoke signals?
Miracle at the New Meadowlands. Eagles overcame a 21 point deficit in less than 8 minutes led by Michael Vick with the walkoff punt return by Desean Jackson for the win.

To be clear...my Zima comment was a joke. Not trying to be insensitive to the victim by any means.
I'm sorry if it was distasteful.
I think Brown is just being gracious to his recruiters at VT. Nothing sinister about his comments, even if he does pick LOLUVA.
I'm not pointing out any one comment in this thread, or the poster who started it, because I think everyone is staying in bounds - and it is a news story worthy of mention/discussion. Just wanted to make sure this didn't devolve though, and reflect poorly on Hokie Nation. Hoo jokes aside (and I love those), this is an attempted murder case, and someone is still in the hospital (probably) because of it. So... I guess just a word of warning to think before you post in this instance (or always, I guess!).
Probably not a necessary warning for the wonderful TKP community, but I felt compelled to speak up. Sorry in advance for the 'Dad-ness' of it...
Maybe too many Zimas gives you super human strength.
R U wasted?!?
I know right. I didn't think any UVA player had any fight in'm. Haven't seen any on the field recently (38-0 bro). Attemped Murder? Can clawing and pulling hair really put someone in critical condition?
Are we sure it was a "Gentlemen's Club" and not a "Ladies' Club"? UVA players have been known to frequent establishments like these.
Sadness. Well I attended RU for undergrad and while there is quite a lot of partying, there are those of us that actually did give a crap about getting an education.
That said...that is a giant FAIL
Maybe reverse that. LOL to the UVa.
"I think I got the best education ever. I wouldn't go to another school in Virginia for a journalism or communications degree," she said.
Just let that sink in for a while. While this could be ripped to shreds, I'll save that for another time and just say at least someone feels they even received an education there. (Though Quadfest was a joke this year so maybe people actually are studying/learning/something?)
Is that the whole unedited interview? If it was edited it might be Rivals screwing with us.
Oh, I forgot about when Michael Vick torched my Redskins
Brown will reveal his decision during a live chat: http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncfrecruiting/southeast/post?id=20487.
Five-star defensive tackle Andrew Brown (Chesapeake, Va./Oscar Frommel Smith) will make his college decision on Saturday. The No. 3-ranked player in the country will announce his decision during a live chat with RecruitingNation.
I'll jump into this late, and it may not be the best game I've ever seen, but its worth noting that the Flutie Miracle game was an Instant Classic even if that last play doesn't take place. It was a great, great game. He was like 20 of 22 in that game. The next time you see it on, watch the whole thing.
I've got two - I'm a Skins fan, but the Giants win over the undefeated Pats (in 07?) has to be up there. Also, how about the Wisconsin-Mich St game 2 years back? Where Kirk Cousins wins it on a hail mary at the very end. Incredible.

As oppossed to every other year, when they take a back seat to our dominant offensive juggernaut...
