If I'm not mistaken, I believe they had a third string offensive lineman drafted. They can even put backups in the NFL.

Well, they're our 2 weakest FBS opponents... And to be fair, most conferences have had 2 bottom feeders already.

Kansas and Iowa St are lower than BC and Duke (respectively). Ditto for Illinois and Purdue. Pac-12 had Colorado (worse than BC), and then both Cal and Washington St below Duke. Kentucky has made an appearance... The 80s isn't a terrible spot for a bad team. The ACC's problem isn't a lot of bad teams. It's the lack of dominant top-5 teams.

Great, we have a pretty weak schedule as it is, once you get past Bama, and our 2 weakest opponents (excluding Western Carolina) are both in-conference? Not sure if good or bad...

If Leal is the better quarterback, he'll get the starting job. If Bucky is better, he'll get the starting job. If it's really close, it'll probably go to Bucky to help build for the future, but depends on how close.

This is definitly going to be a game won in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Last year our line seemed as strong as a wet paper bag across the middle. That was mostly due to the injury bug that swept through, heres hoping Grimes can get our line in better shape early.

Have forwarded this to some BAMA boys here at work, told them that if they learned more than they knew before to maybe consider buying the #BEATBAMA shirt that swept through the Tide message boards a couple weeks ago. They will be able to find it on this site.

I seriously hope this is sarcasm again... I try to avoid using decision matrices even as an engineer, I can't imagine too many football players use them to select their top 3 schools.

Alabama football player is the best paying job in the entire state of Alabama.

Speaking from a womans perspective....I would NEVER buy a perfume with a horse on a treadmill on the bottle. LOL This idea (perfume in general) seems silly to me. Don't think I would purchase it. Even if it does have a VT on it.

I see your point and I'd lean the same way as well, but I'm sure that by Fall camp next year, they will start whomever they are confident that can win games at that point. That's what (unfortunately) burned Tyrod's redshirt his sophomore year. Even if Bucky has more upside long-term, Leal will be under center if they trust him over Bucky. But if Bucky is ready and set by that time, then yes, Leal may not get a collegiate start.

Honestly, I think Leal is not a guarantee to play. If I were coach, I would want Bucky to play, so that he will pick the system up and run with it the next couple of years, rather than putting a lot of investment into Leal to play a season and start over at QB.

I agree. The more I'm seeing, the happier I am with this. In his highlight video, a lack of deep outs(except when rolling to that side) and general lack of zip on the ball led me to question his arm strength. However, his camp videos and accuracy are definitely impressive. The talent's there. I'm excited to see what Loeffler can do with his young QBs.

Haha, what are you implying Wartooth?

I remember Mike Imoh being listed at like 5'7 or 5'8. I saw him at Lifetime fitness once and he was much closer to 5'4. That being said he was a bowling ball.

If Bucky redshirts, then He and Ford will have the same amount of in-game experience come decision time in 2014.

Bucky will only have a summer camp on him... and a complete season. That kind of matters.

Kids go to different schools for wildly different reasons. I am sure the NC pitch helps a place like Alabama, but its not the be all and end all. An elite prospect has just as good a chance at making it to the NFL at pretty much any BCS level school (Look at the recent history of the NFL draft, if you are good, the NFL will find you).

Also, winning in general does not seem to be as big a factor as most fans would like to think. How else can you explain elite recruits going to UVA?

Maybe LadyHorseOnATreadmill. MareOnATreadmill. FillyOnATreadmill. As long as it doesn't actually smell like a horse on a treadmill i think it could work

I am excited to see Bucky play. Ford's commitment was big because if Bucky doesn't pan out, we need more depth. We need depth in case of injuries. We need depth for competition. Ford will be here in December meaning Bucky will only have a summer camp on him. Getting Ford for next spring is huge and that is what I am excited about. He essentially gets 1.5 redshirt years or possibly a spring and summer camp will be enough and we have a 4 year starter on our hands...

there are always exceptions but Bama is the cream of the crop right now. I figured we were talking about elite prospects and those elite guys will benefit the most going to a place like that. They will see the playing time most likely.
A border line 3-4 * player would benefit more going somewhere else because they likely won't see the field there.

His point is that these top recruits are constantly turning down in state schools and going elsewhere and it is a slap in the face of the virginia schools that they aren't good enough to get these players. He isn't saying its OK for them to do it or that they should stay in state. The fact that between VT and UVA we can't lock down the majority of the top talent in the state isnt good. How many top recruits from Ohio leave the state vs how many does Ohio State get? How many top recruits leave the state of Alabama? Texas has been mediocre and they still lock down top talent from Texas.

Every recruiting site has him at 6'3" but the weight ranges from 180 to 195. I expect him to be around 195-200 by the time spring ball rolls around next year.
