We should totally falsify everyone on the roster. Logan Thomas is ten feet tall. Demetri Knowles runs a forty in negative 4.3 seconds. Derrick Hopkins is stronger than a bear. DJ Coles catches with his feet.

I had a problem with an image and Hokie_x3_Hi suggested uploading an image to imagur.com, then getting the link and using the image embedder. You could have also right clicked the saban and bear image, copied image url, and used the image builder (I think this will work, I don't normally use bing, and by that i mean i don't use bing by choice)

sad horse

Know how guys make up stories at the bar to impress women? "I'm a lion tamer," or, "I'm a fighter pilot"? Well, I'm 5'2", so I like trying to pull the, "I was training to be a jockey when I was younger, just north of Leesburg in Virginia". I usually get found out before too long, but it generates lots of laughs.

I can see commericial now, cut to a Hokie Ladie wearing nothing but essence of Horse on a Treadmill riding a Stallion on a Treadmill! Add a fog machine.

Is it just me or does anyone else not remember how better Tech is with low expectations? I love it when we are a debatable top 25 team coming into the season. Some how it makes our guys work harder and prepare for the bigger games. I mean this season reminds me so much going into the '04 season. Coming off a major disappointing season in '03 that had so much hype and then losing Hall and Jones, the '04 season was looking scary. We had no acknowledged star players (that would change during the season). Everyone thought we were going to be even worse, especially with moving to the ACC. Who did we play first game of the year in '04 that everyone predicted would murder us? Oh yea, a NC favorite in USC who did go on to win it that year. And who won the ACC that year? Oh yea, the Hokies won it and shocked everyone. And who do we play the first game this year? Alabama, probably the biggest favorite in years to win it all. Idk about you all, but I'm more excited about this year than many in the past. Not saying we are a dark horse to win it all, but I think as long as we can get that offense manageable, then we are going to surprise a lot of people and could very well get back to 10+ wins.

I would so be the guy to buy my wife perfume with a horse on a treadmill. For Valentine two years ago, I got her a card with Danny Cole on it from the sugar bowl saying. "You're a real catch!!!" Thanks Key Play for totally enhancing my marriage!!!

I agree with you, but I just don't think that High School kids are all thinking this way. Same question though of why NFL players get excited to play for the Patriots over the Rams, or MLB players wanting to play for the Yanks over most all other teams. It's more for the opportunity. They know that these great teams will give them the opportunity to play for the top prize. These kids want to win a national championship, and Bama has 3 in the last 4 years, so that would be a pretty good chance.

The real question would be, do these kids want to blaze their own path to the NC. Reavis seems to have that mindset, he wants to help build the team and get good players to help get to that level. They also have to realize that being second string or an intermittent player on a NC team may not be as strong as being a starter on a NC team.

I think that people still have to remember that it takes a while for a school to build a legacy. All the top programs that are pulling in great recruits are old and have been a top team for years. Bama has history, so do Notre Dame, Michigan, etc. Hell, even FSU has plenty. I feel that VT is starting to build that, and I feel like if we can now tip some of those big games over into a a win for us, it will start to come more and more. 15 years ago, we were turning 2 stars into great teams, and now we are starting to be in discussions for 5 stars.

It just takes time...

AAAAND, they were not averaging 40 pts a game on offense like they were last season. I'm looking forward to this game just as a measuring stick for us, this year. If we go out there and Notre Dame this thing up then we're probably looking at another 7-8 win season. If we don't embarass ourselves then we'll probably make a run to the ACCCG and face Clem/FSU.

Still rated higher than the #11 QB in PA. I thought he was the #1 QB in PA?

"mellon"

Even JC Coleman's height was a bit overestimated. Even with cleats and a helmet on he didn't reach whatever VT listed him at.

If VT is going to want to compete with the big boys, they will have to be willing to spend money like the big boys.

They will play whichever gives them a better chance to win now.

*edit for typo.

I'm going to disagree that Leoffler will pick "his guy" over Bucky if it is close. he will pick whoever he feels gives the team the best chance to win.

Summer camp he might get some reps, come the season he will not be getting anything meaningful. He will be in the meetings and film study which is good but as far as actually doing the offense he will be holding a clipboard. It is widely known that springs are more important for the development of young players than falls. They get the coaches attention while during the season the coaches focus more on the 1's.

None of the top recruits owe Nick Saban anything. Did he get them to where they are? Why does a kid want to ride the coattails of someone else's accomplishments? Why is there this belief that AL would be their best choice? Is it like trying to get into Harvard or Yale from an academic perspective?

Maybe we should ask the top recruits if they think they are good enough to go to Tech? You have to have more confidence, character, and toughness to go with an underdog. You have to have a belief that your abilities will help you succeed against adversity. That it is not the coach that will determine your outcome but yourself. The coach can guide you and keep you on the right path. VT is a good school for that and as good if not better than most "elite" schools. Ask anyone in the business.

I'm not sure about it not working out at QB, but I do know he was working with the receivers by the end of spring

So did not mean to -1 you....finger slipped on the phone. Feel free to -1 me if you wish. Sorry buddy!
