Either system sounds like it's an upgrade. Some sort of digital system to re-sell tickets through the school is the way to go since it'll largely eliminate the scalping problem... the bigger problem is how lazy VT has been on a ticketing system.
Just to put it in perspective - the first year I bought student season tickets (2007), they were mailed to me with a ticket for each game. Standard stuff, you tear it off & present at the gate.
I believe the following year, they switched it to a single ID card that was your ticket to every football game. Apparently there were lots of complaints about that though, since it was difficult to replace if it was lost & it made it difficult to let someone else use it if you couldn't (or wanted to scalp the ticket basically). Personally, I liked that idea the best of all the strategies they've used. Plus, I didn't feel sorry for people who lost it or never got it back from someone after selling it, because if you really cared you would have been careful with it.
The e-tickets that they continue to use have always annoyed me, on three fronts - the first is that it's clearly a cost-cutting measure. The second is that it spawned the paper airplane throwing. Thirdly, I'm not the kind of person who hoards tickets from past games I've been to, but I do have a select few that I've kept over the years. The ticket design & relatively small size make them fun keepsakes - with the 8.5x11 generic printout, what's the point of keeping it? For all who were there the first year they started using this system, I remember hearing a fair amount of criticism of the policy. I distinctly remember a Facebook group organized for the UNC game that year (because I was a part of it) - at the start of one of the quarters, everyone who had been made aware of this group through a paper airplane to signal their displeasure with the administration's ticketing policy... unfortunately it didn't work & has become a huge nuisance.
There has to be a better policy & the university seriously needs to figure something out, as I'm tired of seeing people take advantage of the system.
Is there a way we can have the NCAA further investigate the University of Non Compliance for this?
Why not let them get rings for doing nothing. They get degrees for doing nothing too. The 8-4 on the side isn't their record it's the hardest math problem they will see on their math final. Smart, fast and physical are on their spelling final. Just another way to help out the team.

Every time I watch the First INT, I see the same thing. Stanford breaks to the inside, Thomas starts his throw, Green comes off of Coles and hits Stanford knocking him off his route just as the ball is leaving Thomas' hand. If I'm the official watching it, I call Green for Pass Interference.
OK, Lloyd Christmas.

I think he was asking what the actual number was.
Did an 11 year old write the engraving?
Yea, I actually agree, on both the out and the slant, that locking on was not the major mistake.
On the out, I can't tell if the Corner is playing a zone or man drop, but it looks like man as he was draping/following Stanford. In that instance, while it's not ideal to stare down the receiver, the QB can, because the DB is staring at the WR chest. In my opinion, Logan's mistake was the the throw was late, a little after Stanford's initial break, allowing the DB to catch up. It also would've helped if Stanford would've cut back toward the line of scrimmage another 1/2 yard, creating more space. Correcting these minute details, and then Logan and Stanford will be completing the out-route 4-5 times a game as it is unstoppable against man coverage.
And on the slant, I agree with Hokiefan that the pass came out late due to the fumbling of the snap. However, I do agree with French that the completion was a little bit lucky. Should Logan have gone somewhere else with the ball because of the bobble? Probably, as an experienced LB may have very well fallen into that zone and picked that ball off. But, of course, when you have an arm like Logan, you will often find a way to zip the ball into tight spaces.
I'd like to see a Parking Garage where the Squires lot is. I've never had trouble finding a parking space in the commuter lot (even if I have to park on the edge of price's fork). This location isn't used for tailgating (I don't think?), but is significantly closer to Squires, War Memorial, Owens, Hokie Grill, etc. It is also close to downtown, where it would be nice to have more parking. I'm sure downtown businesses would appreciate the additional parking.
As another person who lived in Thomas their Freshman Year, "jealous" is an understatement.
That is all.
He's so graceful. Like a bird or something.
I know I'll need to replace the undergarments I'm wearing at the time if such an event happens.

You are correct. Parking Services always gotta get that money.
What will he do if/when hand commits
Agreed, I was simply trying to make a comparison between being born with something vs. learning it and used leadership as the example. Clearly I failed.
It definitely appears he is very conscience of is mechanics progression. Almost like an old school dancer saying the numbered steps instead of "knowing" it from muscle memory. This will all happen as he works through the summer. Hopefully
Over/under is total points scored.
I'm pretty sure that Bike Bus Walk thing used to be free and then they realized that it was so popular they could make some money and couldn't afford to give away free parking to people. It's still a good deal though for the people that only come on campus occasionally.
It is tough to walk to campus everyday when it is a 20-30 minute walk only to get to the edge of campus from most of the major student apartment complexes like Terrace View, the Village, other Patrick Henry Apts, Foxridge, etc. Thats about an hour of walking just for one round trip. Most Hokies can't afford to lose an hour of the day hoofing it around blacksburg when there is studying, working, classing, and drinking to do. Buses, bikes and cars get you there in a fraction of the time giving you more time to do all those other things.
Parking services came up with a great plan with the Bike Bus Walk program a couple years ago (2008?). 15 one-day parking permits per semester for $15. I took this option as soon as it was offered. I rode my bike most days and bussed when I didn't feel like biking. The 15 parking permits were used for days when I absolutely had to drive in order to get there fast in terrible weather. Ski goggles and mask can only keep you so warm/dry.
The BT is crowded and unreliable during peak hours. Bicycle is definitely the fastest mode of transportation around campus and Blacksburg, but some days you just have to drive.
Yes. They are trying to set a line to get action (money) on both sides of the line. If they set it lower all the money coming in to would be on Bama. I would expect this to continue to come down slowly unitl a week or so before the game.
That's exactly what it means. What's the over/under though?
I think that the leadership thing is different than the head coaching skills..... I think they're necessary, but I think that part of the whole HC gig is almost CEO-like qualities. There are various facets to this, part marketing, part recruiter, part comptroller, a little bit of everything. Leadership fits in with this, but it's by no means the major part, I think.
I don't really understand that. Are they saying Alabama over Tech by 22? (i don't gamble..)

I know everyone's situation is different, but my reason for driving primarily had to do with my schedule - as a landscape architecture student, I spent a ridiculous part of my time at VT in studio. When I lived on campus the first two years, walking back to Pritchard/Lee regularly past midnight was zero fun (especially when you're exhausted, or it's freezing outside). Once I moved off campus for the last three years, by the time I was done working most nights in studio the bus system had long stopped running for the day.
Oftentimes I would go a day or two without seeing any of my housemates - one particularly nasty time during exams/final project week I had to pull two all-nighters in a row and the guys I lived with hadn't seen me for three days straight! Point being, when your schedule isn't regular it's very difficult to rely on walking/biking/buses as the primary mode of transportation. I would have loved to have a more normal schedule & spend less money on a parking pass each year, but such is life.
