i wasnt mad about it, i jumped up and yelled and annoyed the people in front of me. it was a hell of a catch and run by stanford. i was just saying it was an extremely small opening. just a habit lt may not want to get too comfortable with.
so can we kill the notion that he stabbed somebody?
those exes will get after ya
French, let's suppose that Benedict does end up as our starting RG. You've said it before that Miller struggles against good NG's like the one we will face against Alabama (Brandon Ivory?). Wang doesn't seem like he has the size or strength to handle the Bama front, so doesn't Farris give us the best option at C for the opener?

I'll be honest, that game totally slipped my mind and it shouldn't have. However, my point is still being missed. Leal has to get more consideration than before, but by no means should he be given the starting job right now. Logan isn't consistently terrible, he's mostly adequate. Not good, not great. Adequate.
If he made the throw he made the throw. That's all there is to it. You can't get mad at a player for making too good a play.
The fact that it was a completion (regardless of how close it was) shows that he made the right decision.
Yeah, that is the one catch with the playoff system. If there are 4 buy in games, what conferences will only be able to send one rep? If there are 8 playoff spots, it would seem that 4 conferences would send 2 each.
So the only logical point would be that something has to happen to make that possible, either that, or there will still be plenty of bellyaching since two conferences will end up with only one rep. Granted if ND gets the tie in, that would help, but I don't see them winning enough to be automatically in the playoffs.
I think the conferences force their hand on ND and make them finally join one though.
I haven't had a chance to look at the video for evidence or a reason why, but the blocking by the line on punts looked awful. I thought 3 punts had a good chance of being blocked, but it looked like we had guys holding back as to not hurt Hughes. Anyone have any theories why that was so bad. Also am I the only one who can't stand having two returners on punts? I mean all it does it give Holmes a chance at return instead of having Kyshoen Jarrett return, and you lose a better blocker for Kyshoen or someone to block the punt (the return of Beamerball Would be nice).
that pass was actually thrown into an ultra tight window. yeah it was placed well, but it was a couple inches away from being the first pick six.

In that case, the arm pride and joy gave up two returns for touchdowns and the arm punter injured himself trying to tackle the return man
Arm punting FTW?
BEAMERBALL
I agree. Something similar to the Notre Dame clause that they have now for BCS game selection..
+ one million
Turtle's dad's grammar was horrible, though, so it could not have been him.
On the first INT, 4th and goal, LT was throwing to #80, Knowles, not #5 Stanford. The ball was actually placed decently well (left/short shoulder of the WR) for the coverage that was coming out of the endzone. It wouldn't have been an easy catch and probably would not have resulted in a TD, but still a completable throw. Problem was that D. Greene committed pass interference & basically pushed his way through Knowles to intercept the pass.
My main issue is that the RB was alone in space to the left and may have had a chance to break a tackle to get into the endzone vs a low-% pass into a crowded area. LT has to get a better sense of when he has time to check down and when he doesn't.

"There's a correlation between the GOR and the ACC's push for a 24-hour channel that would mirror the format of the Big Ten, SEC and Pac-12.
The league is evaluating the viability of a channel with ESPN, which is gathering info and will get back to the league soon. From what I'm told, league members are encouraged about those talks so far."
Notre Dame will find a way into the playoff scenario without joining a conference. They just renewed their NBC TV contract for 10 years, if memory serves, and that keeps them fat, happy and rolling in the dough without any need to join the ACC. They will negotiate a way for themselves to get into the playoff if they qualify, you just watch.
Did you mean the "5" conferences, SEC, B1G, Pac-12, Big-12 and the ACC?
Once the contract expires in 2027, yes, I suppose we could. Although who knows what the media landscape (or the college football landscape) will look like by then
Once our deal with ESPN is up, can't we then make moves to create an ACC network?
Wait till the playoffs take affect, and Notre Dame will join as a full member. As there won't be an independent rule, you will have to be a member of one of the 4 conferences.
I think (and I'm not an expert on this) that we can't because of our (the ACC's) deal with ESPN. They will broadcast ACC games on a national stage (basketball too), but I don't think we can make an ACC network because of it.
I think this was necessary from an ACC standpoint. Television markets have been the driver of all this conference re-alignment, and the ACC (and Hokies) are not the wolves most VT fans think they are. It was just 10 yrs ago that VT needed help to get into the ACC, and that was fresh off of a NC game appearance. Currently, ACC football is probably the weakest of the major conferences and ripe for the picking. (GT in the conference title game last year!?) This media penalty might stop the ACC bleeding once and for all.

after watching another angle, I don't think LT even saw Greene coming up until he was in mid-throw... then he tried to laser it in there. His pass was a little ahead of where Knowles would've been if he didn't get chucked as LT was releasing the ball.
Also DJ Coles was open for the fade to to the endline/corner because Greene jumped Knowles' square drag. LT didn't recognize that either.
