I heard when he walked into his new office for the first time, the office was empty besides three crystal balls on the desk. That kind of pressure leads to this kind of intensity.

I like Fat Frank too. Please change the shirt to show his mug and instead read, 'Enter Sandwich'

I appreciate it Joe...this lifted my spirits. Been bummed out since Thurs. The headset set to the Bear was hilarious. good stuff.

Love it.
Thanks for making my Monday less mediocre Joe, I now have a good answer for all the "what's up with your Hokies?" questions at work. Bring back Fat Frank!

Look at the coaches of this years powerhouse teams. Saban makes a habit of demoralizing third stringers for small mistakes while up 60 points. Muschamp has a fury in his eyes that seems pure satanic at times. Brian Kelly might be a volcano. You need an asshole coach these days.*

*Conveniently glosses right over Bill Snyder.

I can't say I've seen his transcripts, but did know he attended community college. There were no indications from the interviews I've seen or read (from late 2011 to present) that indicated he was a poor student, but that's just my experience regarding the matter. What I do know is that he made a promise to a KIA battle buddy he'd make every attempt to play D-1 ball, and that he brandished VT headgear every chance he got while downrange.

Glad he's made a roster and the NCAA took care of its end, but still wish it was with VT.

Logan is looking at the sideline every play after the line sets? Is the booth having trouble deciding on play calls?

Someone get that man on an O-lineman diet. I don't care if he can jog faster to the coaches handshake after the game if it's a losing effort. I want Frank to win games and then be able to do the truffle shuffle after damnit.

The band (well, the students in it) support the valiant efforts of the NEZ. We try to stick the chant in (see what I did there?) wherever we can in an existing cadence, but nothing has quite the same beat

Also, everybody tried to start it with the "oh-oh-oh" but if you didn't catch it from the beginning then you didn't know which "oh" we were on so some people would be doing stick it in while others are doing oh and vice versa. Our hearts were in the right place but sometimes it would just be a big mess haha.

I always said it would have worked if everybody would have just started with "stick it in, stick it in, stick it in....", as opposed to the "oh" part because then it's easier to follow along (and you can yell "stick it in, stick it in, stick it in" with more force than "oh" which gave the chant a good start). Oh well. Just reliving my north days as a student. Miss those days.

My freshman year was the last year of Stick it in. We continued the tradition for my soph and junior year by starting the chant in the north stands whenever we got close, but it was hard to do without the help of the band (and Hokies lacking rhythm struggled to do it acappella lol). The band would look back at us and smile and give thumbs up as to say, "I wish we could play if for you guys. Good job, keep it up. Stick it in, stick it in, stick it in." By my first senior year (09-10) it had pretty much died. So sad.

A few (the story I've heard has the number at 8) alums and or other fans wrote letters to Jim Weaver essentially saying the chant and motions were vulgar, and the chant should not be played in a family environment. So we (the band) have been forbidden to play it since then.
However, during our annual "hokies for the hungry" food drive, the drumline plays it anyway. So if you're coming down for the game, a) bring some cash or something canned and b) find the drumline and stick it to you heart's content.

Not really sure. Probably just hasn't healed properly. There hasn't been much word about him so I don't know. It really sucks though because Tariq is the man. He was all over the field last year and made so many plays for us. He'll be back next year though, only a redshirt junior!

I'm pretty sure some of the alum stopped the stick it in chant. The students now just know of it as a thing of the past, and you see it on shirts every now and then.

I would love nothing more than to bring it back though. STICK IT IN STICK IT IN STICK IT IN!

Shoot...I remember staying late after a game was over just to collect all the left-over cups that people would leave in the stand to stock-pile our apt with. They sucked for beer pong but still used them anyway. Who needs solo cups at parties when you have 200+ Hokie Pride cups floating around?!?

I am going to be there going nuts on every defensive stand. I won't be able to speak Friday but screw it!!!! Lets shock the conference Thurs. HOKIE fans need to do our part Thursday night and help our team out.

That is a great perspective. I think that is dead on correct. He would be a good person for special teams. I think we need to get much more aggressive there.

Our QB is playing poorly. He's not a bad QB. We have been weak at RB and DB, two positions we regularly excel. Our DL will likely return intact next year. With Tyler and Tariq and RVD, we'll return our LB corps. We will replace Davis' production with Coles. Malleck has shown improvement.

I took UVA's win as a good sign. They had lost 6 games in a row, pretty much having superior statistical advantages in each of the 6. Then, they pulled it together (for one game?). I think we have a game like that in the last 3, I kinda hope it isn't FSU and we play great and lose by 3.

Sadly, the point about stick it in is true. But that might be more the fault of Jim Weaver than the students. More working to me are the "traditions" that have replaced it; paper airplanes, leaving early, and sitting down

it came to him having to take some (not many i don't think) community college courses to qualify and he wanted to go the easier route .. i'm sure that dabo dazzled him some too ... no hard feelings at all Mr Rodriguez and i don't think it's bad karma at all.

the fact that he's allowed his military service be made a spectacle of and the fact that he wasn't willing to do the few extra things required of him -- screams a bit of entitlement. no one, especially a service-member, should expect a school to bend on its rules for them or anyone else....not saying that mr rodriguez did -- he was presented his options and respectully declined and chose others .. it's all good

this is great. literally laughed out loud at least twice.

seriously though, i really do feel like O'cain was calling the plays well last year. Wasn't perfect, but it was decent. Not, Stiney is back in the box and you know that has to be an odd, if not tense, dynamic up there.

This post and the Falcons being 8-0 are the only things that make me happy right now.

On Beamerball.com, Frank's post game speech consisted of, "We're just a play here and a play there away from winning this thing..." Unfortunately, I'm seeing that a "play here and a play there" are being mishandled by shitbag special teams play.

Think about it: Give up a TD on a kickoff to UNC; give up awesome field position while receiving a punt from Clemson because some kid can't look up and get out of the way of the fucking ball; give Miami the ball (TWICE) in their own redzone-ish due to a blocked punt (bad snap/no urgency) and an 80-yard kickoff return (bad angles/no tackling).

BeamerCo, I'm noticing a trend of a play here and a play there and it's your pride and joy that have been costing us games...plus a shitty offense...and using 50 running backs each game...and a mediocre secondary.
