I remember when we didn't need to plead for any of this.
STICK! IT! IN!
For you sir -

Oh wait...
Shane also has served on SEC coaching staffs, which is why I haven't wrote him off yet.
We don't deserve a shot at the ACC title this year.
Interesting I forgot they played UCLA probably got the waiver because the extra loss came in the Champ game and would not have had that loss if they werent in that game.
In 2011 UCLA finished 6-6, went the the Championship game because USC was ineligible, lost to Oregon, and then had to be granted a waiver by the NCAA to be allowed to play a bowl game at 6-7. I believe the technical rule is you have to have 6 wins and be .500 or better to go bowling, but this could turn into a similar situation where we blame the 7th loss on being put in a bad situation by ineligible teams.
Two side-notes: 1) The bowl UCLA played in was the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl (not sure if you said it because of this or because you think Tech could end up there) and they proceeded to lose to Illinois to finish 6-8.
I hear there are a few feelings of nepotism going on in the coaching staff but Shane has just been there for two seasons. That season he had a freak athlete. I feel like the offensive scheme as a whole and line blocking has killed our offense. I say lets give him some time...O'Cainspring needs to go though.
....if Miami declares ineligible.
....if GT doesn't win 2 of Duke/UNC/UGA.....(5 wins)
....if Clem and FSU win out....
....if VT wins the division At 4-4 and loses in Charlotte...
FSU to Orange
Clemson to Sugar (big loss by Boise last night)
The CFA bowl has to choose between Duke, NCSU (who was just there Labor Day) or a 6-7 VT team.
Wow. Would they pick us?
....then this decision would have been a no brainier.
UVA will beat Miami this week. That might help their decision process.
...they will finish 5-3.
Who knew. I thought they were dead months ago
Maybe they can rekindle some HS chemistry.
I just mentioned #TonyFranklin4VT to my friend on facebook and his response was "Do you really expect Beamer to make a coaching change?" Got me thinking because like you said, everybody on this site wants a change, but most of Hokie Nation knows it's not likely. Like I told my friend, I honestly don't know what to expect. I'd put it like this, I won't be surprised either way - if a change is made then I won't be surprised because it's needed, but I wouldn't be surprised if changes aren't made because we all know how Beamer is. It's a toss up at this point, but only the administration & coaches really know.
As for the Shane thing: I don't really think we can make a judgement off of this season, because I think our lack of a running game is attributed to the whole offensive system as opposed to our running backs coach. We just implemented this offense and it's clear to see that we're not doing it well. We're not blocking it well and Logan doesn't make the right decision on the zone reads most of the time. If our running game continues to decline for the next few seasons (assuming Ocainspring is still running the show) then maybe the blame should go to Shane, but I think it's too early to make that judgement.
What are the real odds that some "major" changes occur to the offensive side of the ball? We all feel that a new OC is needed and I agree, but we all know how loyal Beamer is to his staff. If I had to guess, the only changes to occur would be a possible retirement of O'Cain. Outside of that, I would be shocked if any real changes occur.
I would also like to throw this out there: Is Shane Beamer a good positional coach? I know that he is a great recruiter, but do we feel that the running backs have developed greatly under him this year? Billy Hite has a great track record with running backs, even young ones. I think Shane started as a positional coach for So Carolina and then was moved to a strictly recruiting role. I just hope that Frank hasn't become to complacent with his job and avoiding making difficult decisions. I think Frank is a great coach and a good leader and developer of young men, but at the end of the day we need better results than what we are getting.
That really made me laugh. Good one.
Courtney Prince type move here, glad the coaches are focused on what's important
If he can play TE then maybe they'll try him at QB too?...
God, this is WAY worse than the UVA videos. Because this guy actually thinks he's good. And thinks he's telling the truth. Underrated? Seriously?
Tough to fear the spear when your own team always chokes on it.
The question is: Will the miami admin be willing to vacate a chance at the ACCCG and the orange bowl? They're in the driver seat now to play in Charlotte, so they're administration is going to have balance risk-reward. Last year, they had a much easier decision because they weren't faced with missing out on the Orange bowl. We shall see. Personally, I don't think we deserve to play in Charlotte no matter how you cut it. However, I would hate if miami vacated their chance and Duke won OUR division.
What's the bowl eligibility cut off? I believe it's 6 wins. If so, miami will have a decision to make next week if they beat uva, which I believe will happen.
Oh, yeah. Belay that then.
1. Recruit Defensive tackle
2. Convert from DT to TE
3. Convert from TE to OL
Alot in life is how you handle success. I think Logan is struggling with the success from last year, projected first round draft pick, etc. On top of that he doesnt have the supporting cast he did last year. 1st round tailback, Upper class men receivers, experienced O-line. I think he gets his head straight this off season and come back and quietly in the beginning atleast has a great senior year. The talent and skill is there and Leal is not the answer.
Isn't he a defensive guy?
UVA > FSU?

He's also proved himself to be a great recruiter. Can't forget that either
