But that's the harsh reality that the conference leadership needs to make any sort of progress.
They continue to make very weak rules, schedules, and tiebreakers, assuming that they're just going to end up with exactly two strong teams (and only two) at the end of the season and it will all work itself out. They refuse to entertain the worst case scenarios (such as a 7-5 Duke winning the conference), even though everybody outside of that office knows that the worst case scenario is much more likely to happen.
The funny part is that they keep doing all of this to improve their odds for the CFP, and yet every single move they make ends up hurting them even more.
I'm guessing we'll see more of this from programs with senior QBs this year because they don't like the options they're anticipating from the portal

We def need to be in the upper end of that elite FT% bracket. Otherwise opponents will keep doing what they are doing...playing us physical because they know the refs will fuck us over by not calling most of the fouls, but when they do, we won't be clutch in making them. I remember a game against FSU where Leonard rotated like 45 bench players to foul us constantly, and they nearly came back to win the game because we missed a significant number of the FT shots.
That would be effing hilarious if the judge could, and did, rule that way. When asked what Castellanos would do for the remainder of the season, the judge should simply say "He should focus on his academics...you know, the real reason why he is at a university," all the while miming the masturbatory hand action.

However, I'll give a hot take and say I'm rooting for UVA over Duke. Much more damaging to the conference to have Duke win and the ACC left out of the tournament.

It depends how much more resources JMU has relative to the league. At ULL he was far ahead of the rest of the league and still blew a few games and couldn't beat Chadwell Coastal. If JMU's just richer than every sure yeah he'll probably do well
Summerall and Chesney would have been my picks of the bunch. I dont know how golesh is going to do, he had an advantage like Napier where he had better players than a lot of his opponents.

The PSU fans on Reddit have gone from "fire Kraft now" to "Kraft is a total genius that was planning this all along."
The general consensus is that Terry Smith will recruit anyone they need and then Campbell & Co. will Coach them up.
The really fringe fans are essentially saying that Terry was always the recruiting genius and Franklin was just an accessory...lol.
Here's the logical fallacy there... if Terry Smith was the recruiting genius, why did Penn State lose 90% of their class... with a vast majority going to VT??
I think the interplay between Campbell and the expectation of signing and retaining Blue Chip prospects there will be interesting.
All of this makes me happy to hear because what we actually got (for once) was our FIRST choice, one that will hopefully be even better for VT than any of these guys, all of whom sound like winners too.
