This is not a post to poke fun at Bennett. It is more of a question of eligibility.
My perception is that most of Tech's athletes receive their degrees in 3 years. Mostly due to the fact they are attending classes in the fall/spring/summer. Anyone who had been around for 6 years I would expect to either have multiple undergraduate or a masters.
For those who don't follow, Kelley Ford created KFord Power Rankings. I think I found him on r/cfbanalytics or in the moon crew discord a few years ago (don't recall). I'm not as familiar with his methodology as I am with Bill C/SP+, so I need to do a bit of research and circle back, but it's the offseason, and I don't feel like actually working, so I decided to share.
Strike one more player from the #Hokies roster: WR Christian Moss won't be back. Virginia Tech's sitting at 82 scholarships right now, with three to play with in the transfer portal. Will have more from a sitdown with Brent Pry in a little bit.β Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) May 2, 2023
Not a name I thought would have gone in the portal. Figured he had a good shot of being in the two deep. The #Hokies do have a wave of young corners coming into the program, though. https://t.co/gzfGdh3gggβ Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) May 1, 2023
I thought something was up. I couldn't find them listed with the Spring Game stuff and their site was unreachable last week when I was looking for some new Tech Gear.
Figured there'd be some movement in what was a very full (and remade) WR room. Wright seemed on the cusp last year with sporadic standout practice days, then got hurt. Unofficially, I've got the #Hokies at 86 scholarships now. Obviously more attrition coming. https://t.co/hsBMErun7Aβ Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) April 27, 2023
Hokies great being honored tonight with induction into Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.
Played for the Hokies from 2001-2003. First team All American in 2003. 8th overall pick in 2004 by the Atlanta Falcons. Currently the Carolina Panthers Assistant defensive backs coach.
