This is the way we're moving forward with this rather than having portal entry discussion megathreads with 500+ comments that needs a part 2 or a part 3, people making individual threads anyway, info getting lost in the shuffle, and so on.
If you want to provide a support for a megathread, you can do that IN THIS THREAD. Don't go into every single portal thread and rehash the same comments, same pushback to those comments, etc in each one. We'll lock those subthreads -- you're not in trouble, it's just distracting clutter. And for the love of god, some of you need to stop the petty bickering about it.

The topic of our less than stellar non conference schedule has come up in a few different topics recently. I didn't want to derail any of those any further, but I wanted to put our non conference scheduling into context. If nothing else, to create a timeline. We all know that there are a lot of moving pieces with the non conference schedules, and we seem to have a history of certain series getting cancelled or rescheduled on us. I'm not trying to justify any decisions, but I am trying to see when they were made/announced.
(Apologies, some of these links may not work due to free article limits, but they're primarily just used as cited sources. Most of them are news stories from years ago.)
Virginia QB Brennan Armstrong has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer, @247SportsPortal has learned. Armstrong has thrown for more than 9,000 yards in his career.https://t.co/hmusmXavaGβ Chris Hummer (@chris_hummer) December 1, 2022
If he had a year like 21 I'd take him in Blacksburg
No VT players on the first, second, OR third team All-ACC. That's the first time this has happened in the ACC or the Big East.
Sorta highlights the anonymous coach commentary from over the summer, from this post: https://www.thekeyplay.com/content/2022/august/3/acc-coaches-talk-anonym...
"It's not a stretch to say the offense doesn't have a top-half-of-the-league-level skill player at any position. They haven't signed a single player in the last two years that a high-level ACC program wanted."
And we have our first portal entrant:

Didn't see an other games thread. Figured we needed one.
For all my analytics nerds out there, our season is over, so I thought it would be interesting to compare our post season standing against our preseason projections.
A quick definition for those unfamiliar:
In a single sentence, it's a tempo- and opponent-adjusted measure of college football efficiency. [Bill Connelly] created the system at Football Outsiders in 2008, and as [his] experience with both college football and its stats has grown, [he has] made quite a few tweaks to the system.
Now that the season is officially over, it's time to take a look back at what went well, what didn't go well, and where we think we can make the biggest strides of improvement going into the Spring practices.
Personally, I liked what I saw defensively the majority of this year. I think our biggest problem there is depth. We get a competent 2 deep that doesn't tire out late in games and I think we'll have some solid foundation to work with next year.
Offensively, we need a ton of work. For a variety of reasons on and off the field that probably will be a few years in the making to resolve.
What say you?
Interesting for sure. If he gets it, I wonder how it would affect whether we go into the portal for someone else.
Pray I get it ππ½ https://t.co/LUxMAat7Vaβ Jason Brown (@JasonBrown_QB) November 21, 2022
I double he would win out for the starting job over wells next year, but anything can happen between now and next September.
