Pry-ssr Military Bowl Prep 2023
I will add additional pressers related to the bowl in the comments as they come out. ESD will get its own stuff.
Everybody's back y'all LFG.
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.

25yr 6A Manchester High football coach Tom Hall, a former Virginia Tech lineman and one of the winningest high school football coaches in Central Virginia with just under 200 career victories, announced at season's end that he's stepping down, time for a change.
Wonder if he'd have anything to add on Pry's team?
Only one thing to say:
#Hokies coach Brent Pry said safeties Nasir Peoples (ACL) and Jalen Stroman (undisclosed) have undergone surgeries and will not play in the Military Bowl.— Damien Sordelett (@DamienSordelett) December 16, 2023

OK, after many texts and calls, I feel confident in saying this:Following the TRO granted earlier today, the NCAA is now granting multiple-time transfers immediate eligibility through Dec. 27 (without punishing them retroactively if the court order is overturned later).— Nicole Auerbach (@NicoleAuerbach) December 13, 2023
Well, people wanted the wild West and now we have it. All transfers, including players on their 2nd or 3rd, are granted immediate eligibility. The expectation is that the transfer market is going to see a flood of entrants over the next couple weeks.

Receiver room is set.
Part 1 got to be over 500 comments in the span of 9 days, and the thread just became a bit unwieldy to follow, especially on mobile.
So I'm bringing up a Part 2.
Lets continue to discuss the mess that college football has become.
One of the Mods, feel free to lock the previous thread when you get a chance.
Contrarian take.
NIL leveled the playing field for schools like VT. All we need is a few good players (portal or recruits) to make our return to relevance and we while we don't have the same mega boosters as some schools, our fan base has strong in HHI and sheer numbers, which NIL allows us to leverage as an asset.
Whereas prior to Nil, folks like myself were on the sideline without a clear way to make an impact.
Thought process...
VT was built on 1-2 5 star players, a great team with of coached up players, an aggressive system defense, and special teams.
The formula worked and I still think it would work. The challenge has been getting the next Tyrod Taylor, David Wilson, Kendal Fuller, etc.
On his 7th circle directly over Scott Stadium and going strong.

Oooh boy that should be an interesting crowd that weekend.
And several other assistant coaches.
Tulane OC Slade Nagle, DC Shiel Wood, DL coach Gerald Chatman, WR coach Derrick Sherman & analyst James Ross headed to Houston & will not coach in Tulane's bowl, source told @ActionNetwork. All will have same positions under Willie Fritz at UH w/Ross promoted to inside LB coach— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) December 8, 2023
Brutal. Even more evidence why, when the 12 team playoff comes, the bowls need to go away.

Well that time has come again. The Bowl Pool for "the Key Play" has been opened. Password #LOLuva.
Good luck everybody.
Split Zone Duo (like every niche podcast) did a ketchy end of season award show (link). Brent Pry was 'nominated' for 'best proof of concept shown by a first or second year head coach.' They go on to compare/contrast what Brent Pry is doing at VT to what Brent Key is doing at GT. Discussion starts at 50:50 and goes for close to 10 minutes.
Appearing on Big Dawg Sports Talk, the Hokie signal caller announced he will be returning to Lane for the 2024-25 season
