Travel Problems To Rutgers?!?!?

Not if sure if this needed a thread so it can be deleted but thought this was interesting. While watching College Gameday, they did a quick mention that after the long delay at last weeks game that the team had some travel problems and didnt arrive to Rutgers until late last night. Anyone heard anything about this?

Athletic Department Leadership Promotions

Interesting timing on this announcement. Take in for what you will, maybe Whit is brushing his shoulders off at Mickey, maybe this furthers your opinion that the AD is a good ole boys club, maybe everyone just had a great performance review this year.

"I'm proud of our leadership team," Babcock said. "Each of them are incredibly talented in their own right and they complement each other greatly, as a team. I lean on them daily and am grateful for their commitment to our department and student-athletes. They make us better and these title promotions more accurately reflect their duties and roles."

Hatin' on: Greg Schiano

Greg schiano coaches in New Jersey and at Rutgers.

Greg schiano thought the 2011 bowl game Rutgers played against Tech was good for the sport and really helped advance the game.

ACC Expansion: PAC-12 Complications

Issue#1 Remaining members Oregon State and Washington State (PAC-2) filed a legal complaint against the PAC-12 conference, essentially arguing that since the other 10 schools left, they no longer have voting rights. So far, a judge has ruled in favor of the PAC-2 and barred a PAC-12 meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
This issue could get much more complex if the PAC-2 win sole voting rights and, say, vote to keep all the bowl and NCAA tournament revenue to themselves.

Pry-ssr Piscataway Queensmen 2023

  • Starts by thanking the fans and facilities workers. Knows that was a long day for everyone and was happy to see the fans come back and be rowdy.
  • Knows the Rutgers staff well from time in the B1G. Always stingy on defense
  • Obviously, we need to be better. Feels like the staff has identified areas where the team can improve.

Will Stewart: "Very Possible" that Wells is not healthy enough to play this week

From the opening few minutes of the TSL Purdue Recap Podcast:

Very Possible that Wells is not healthy enough to play this week. My understanding is that even on sunday he couldn't push of his ankle. A tremendous amount of swelling and a lot of pain. He should not have played in hindsight in the second half. I don't know if half time was long enough for them to get a full medical diagnosis on him, but probably shouldn't have played.

Sounds like Drones is likely starting.

'Advanced' analytics round up, 2 weeks in

So, I'm not a data scientist, but I do consume a lot of stuff on *air quotes* "advanced analytics" stuff. I thought it would be interesting to start high level, dive a little bit deeper, then dive even deeper. I'm mostly looking at the offense, I'm kinda focusing on the stuff I feel like I have a good handle of (meaning that I understand - at least theoretically - how the metric is calculated, and what on field behavior it represents), and I'm skipping over the stuff I don't understand.

Rutgers Look Ahead

I just spent over 7 hours in the Iron Maiden known as the Purdue game film, but I have extracted some tidbits about Rutgers.

Gird your loins. Rutgers has only given up two touchdowns in two games. They have 10 tackles for a loss. They have six and a half sacks. They have four interceptions.

Gulp.

Purdue Game Clusterf*#k

We all know how the outcome from the game, but I wanted to write a thread (and most likely an email to the AD's office) about the pisspoor excuse for event management that occurred yesterday.

Purdon't FAM(ish) Thread

Well, not the outcome we all wanted, or even anticipated. But here we are, 1-1.

The game started out horribly, with the defense looking like a wet paper bag and the offense being stubbornly committed to that muddled up Inside Zone. that Bowen likes so much.

I like how we adjusted, on both sides of the ball. Bowen seemed to have made a slight adjustment in the run game, but Purdon't countered which negated anything Bowen wanted to do (he was one step behind all night). And Marve seemed to have made some solid adjustments that had the defense playing really well, until they simply got gassed.

UNC's Tez Walker denied eligibility appeal

Oh how the turntables

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/38347273/north-carolina...

Cited mental health reasons for his second transfer closer to home. From a what's the right thing to do perspective, the NCAA got it wrong (shocking), but glad to see UNC get the same treatment as us with regard to a transfer.

Brian Ferentz Iowa contract

https://hawkeyeswire.usatoday.com/2023/02/06/iowa-football-hawkeyes-anno...

His rolling two-year contract is also currently gone unless he meets "designated performance objectives." Those objectives require that Iowa averages 25 points per game and that the Hawkeyes win at least seven games next season. That wins number includes a possible bowl game

They only scored 24 against Utah State. This is going to be fun to watch this season.
