Ali Jennings?
Maybe I missed it, but does someone have an update on him? My assumption is that he's out for the year and taking a medical redshirt season.
Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.

Back at it again, nerds. Enjoy:
Instead of retyping the glossary, I'm just going to point to CFBD's Glossary.
Any feedback on the format, the data displayed, etc is welcomed and encouraged!
Bye week after a win is like gas station bbq sandwiches. It looks really good, you think it can turn your season around, but in reality it gives you false hope and then makes you hug a toilet for three hours.
FAM!
USA today updated their Coaching Salary Database on October 2nd. Only the headcoaching database has been updated. Assistant Salary Database has not been updated since 12/7/22. Link.
Coach Pry coming in as the 51st highest paid Head Coach at an FBS public school, 10th highest in the ACC.
Virginia Tech football released a statement on Jesse Hanson earlier today: "We're aware of an incident involving Jesse Hanson and we're addressing it with internal disciplinary measures and appropriate action. It's a legal matter and we won't have any further comment."— David Cunningham (@therealdcunna) October 13, 2023
The four letter had a stat today that, at the halfway point in the season, transfer QBs account for 53.4% of all starts at the FBS level.
I would not be surprised if the number is higher for P5 schools, as the arms race appears to be upwardly mobile in nature.
If this is the new trend going forward, the days of recruiting and developing a QB for 4 years is over.
Another VT alumni matchup tonight:
Thursday, some hated teams and future ACC rivals:
Friday, some high quality G5 teams and Primetime:
Saturday, a few top 25 matchups and some interesting matchups:
I've been dropping advanced box scores for the last few games, so I decided to put everything into an 'advanced report card' that summarizes games 1-6, hopefully to see trends. Here are screenshots:

I apologize in advance for any errors. I didn't get a chance to edit it before my lunch break was over. It will get cleaned up this evening.
Dave clawson thinks that qbs aren't protected enough and even touching QBs should be a flag.
Dave clawson is a heifer that is getting milked for the first time and kicks the milk pail spilling all the milk you had for the calf.
SPECIALIST – Bhayshul Tuten, Virginia Tech, RB/KR, Paulsboro, N.J.
Tuten tallied four kick returns for 156 yards, including a 99-yard touchdown return to open the second half against Florida State. His 156 kick return yards are the most in a single game by an ACC player this season and the fourth-most in FBS. The honor marks the second weekly award for the Hokie, as he was named the Running Back of the Week last week.

What's up nerds, I have another advanced box score to share:
Glossary:
1) FSU played a ton of deep shell coverage, daring the Hokies to try to stretch the field. The offensive line couldn't handle the edge speed rush of the Seminoles, and in the rare instance that Drones did get a shot off, he didn't give his big receivers balls that they could make a play on. Granted, they weren't getting open.
2) Most of the passing game success was in the flat. Kudos to Lane, Thomas, and Tuten for running hard to make some tough first downs on those flat passes and extend drives. But, ultimately you can't consistently win games with 15 play drives, especially when the offensive line breaks down.

Took awhile but I kinda figured he'd end up as an analyst before making any other head coaching stops. Comes a week after they fired their OC so in theory could position himself well in that regard but tbh I don't know anything about the landscape of Indiana football.
Well, for some reason I have some mixed feelings about this game even though we knew we would get blown out.
On one hand, we competed really well in spots with a top 5 team. We went toe to toe with a very talented FSU squad for about a quarter and a half. Bowen made some adjustments in-game and allowed the offense to show some productivity.
On the other hand the same old things continue to plague this team/program. We can talk about talent and losing culture all we want, but at some point players and coaches have to be held accountable for simple things:
My FSU friend sent me this pod. It's a really good listen:
Bud's analysis on VT is pretty spot on IMO - it's really impressive how well informed he is about every team. If you have time before the game, definitely recommend giving it a listen.
On the VT Offense vs FSU defense:
We already missed 2 games this week, with our our former (briefly) Hokie, Coach Kill, taking the dub.
Thursday's games included 2 C-USA matchups:
Thursday bonus: 6 Hokies in the Bears v Commanders game
Friday night lights:
Other notable games this weekend:
