Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.
Watching some of the NFL games over the weekend, there was one thing I kept noticing about some of these teams, notably with Seattle. They have their best playmakers out there making plays on special teams. At one point they had their starting safety, Earl Thomas III out there making tackles and bringing guys down on kickoffs and... I kind of miss that out of our teams. In fact, the more I watch Seattle, the more and more they look like a vintage Beamer coached team. Very strong on defense, they are built around running the ball, but aren't afraid to pass when they have to. They have a mobile QB that can make something out of nothing the second a play breaks down.

Looks like somebody still holds a grudge for '07.

Man those VT vs. Miami games were a really big deal 10-15 years ago.

With Navy a bit down this year and Army looking to be on the upswing this could be one of the better games in years!
Navy also has one of the few rivalry win streaks longer than ours.
No matter who wins though these are two world class institutions full of tons of great young men and women who will do great things in service to the nation and in life!
Navy's uniforms are pretty badass too again this year, based on the First Naval Jack (Snake with "Dont Tread On Me")- http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/12/13/behold-the-new-unifo...

Over the course of the season, did you notice an improvement in the fundamentals and technique of the offensive line? Based off of last year with Grimes and this year with Searels, which coach had the guys up front performing the best? Do you think we will see a noticeable difference in year two with Searels? TIA

Football Technology should be a regular topic on VT fan pages. A new camera is being tested for live feeds from helmets, so you could watch the game from the eyes of the players. That would be pretty wild.
If he could get some kind of gyroscopic stabilizer on it to make it less shaky then I think could be damn good.

I was reading the fivethirtyeight article today about the early 2000's Miami team and how immensely talented they were. One of the external links in the article talked about recruiting and how programs perform relative to their expectations. The article itself is from the beginning of last season, but I think its interesting nonetheless. If it was posted here last year I apologize.

So, any thoughts about Logan Thomas potentially starting next week in a massive divisional showdown against the Seahawks? How cool would it be if LT3 beat them to clinch the division for the Cardinals against one of the best defenses (especially secondaries) in the NFL? I just hope he gets a chance over Lindley. VT Football could certainly use the exposure and some good news at the moment.

One interesting thing that should be pointed out is that the ACC led all conferences with 12 players. FSU lead all teams with 5 players.

Hey All,
I'm at work so I can't get on all the sites but according to a link that Hokie Nation posted on Facebook, there's a flight from College Station to Roanoke.

Gosh I don't have this much time to look into all this stuff but it's quite possible now that Will Muschamp is rumored to be going to Auburn.
I'd hate to lose Bud, if this is in fact true, we hope its only an interview. My vision has always been Bud becomes our head coach, and Torian Gray becomes our Defensive Coordinator.

Was asked when he knew that College Gameday was going to be special. His response, "1999 Virginia Tech...Michael Vick, and Frank Beamer decided to use Gameday to show Blacksburg and Lane Stadium"

Josh would have been great (good luck at FSU buddy, represent the 757 and the rest of the commonwealth well during your time as a student-athlete) but Bud Foster and Charlie Wiles are the best in the business. I will never lose faith in our defensive line, regardless of who playing for us.
