OT: Michigan hires Jim Harbaugh
They have informed all their biggest donors a deal has been accepted and signed. Press conference tomorrow to make it official.
If the rumors are true the deal is worth upwards of $10M per season.
Struggling to make sense of this. I can't see him staying in college for long, and the supposed terms are... They're game changing. A deal of at least $9M per year has major implications to the future of the sport. They number just seems absurd and puts college coaches on a higher pay scale than the NFL. I don't know, something just seems off with this.
The season of early entrants to the NFL Draft is upon us
Figure with the completion of bowl games recently and with the potential NFL talent ready to go pro, it would be best to contain it all within one thread. Use this going forward, and I'll get it started with one that has big impact within the ACC Coastal...
Miami's Duke Johnson has declared for the draft. Best of luck to him in the future.
Immediate Thoughts on Yesterday and the Future
Yesterday was a lot of fun. It was a classic Virginia Tech football game. Tech ran the ball right down Cincinnati's throat, made some big plays on a special teams, and the defense made enough plays to keep this game out of reach for Cincy. In my opinion, this is one of the most complete bowl games Tech has ever played, start to finish. The only other bowl games that I can conjure up were the 2009 Chick-Fil-A Bowl, the 2000 Gator Bowl, and the 1993 Independence Bowl. Hopefully this turns a corner in bowl preparation.
Bitter blog - Five thoughts the day after the Hokies' Military Bowl win against Cincinnati
PHOTO GALLERY: 2014 Military Bowl vs Cincinnati
Hi everyone, Michael Shroyer and I finally got to team up on a game and what a fun one it was. You can view pictory here: http://photos.thekeyplay.com/Virginia-Tech-Football-2014/2014-Military-B...
This one is still my favorite, by the way:
Bus Tickets Home
In the wake of the Stanford and Anewsome news, I still didn't hear of anyone bring sent home. If that's right, thats a real plus and could be indicative of the accountability and chemistry with these young guys. Just curious if anybody heard anything.
Great in Hokies!

HELLO, WE BEAT CINCINNATI, THERE WILL BE GIFTORY
If you want something GIFed, give us as much specific info as possible. BillDozer is handling the business, so give give him either game time and quarter, or a specific situation, play thing. SPECIFIC. Thanks.
GUT REACTIONS -- Are you buying the 2015 Hype or Not?
Hokies closed out a 7-6 campaign. They dealt with a plethora of injuries and everyone on offense that matters (save Byrn) is back. The defense you saw this year is back with the exception of Jarrett and Bonner, but safety has plenty of talented depth.
Buy or sell the 2015 hype?
Nice WaPo Article on Bucky Hodges

I said in another thread that I didn't necessarily think he was ready to be a team leader given some of his immaturity. This article though tells a story of him growing up this year, and learning to make better decisions both on and off the field.

Good sports bar in Roanoke?
Due to my wife and her family being a bunch of !$-/$/.>]\{| I am going to be in Roanoke instead of Annapolis at the game. Any good recommendations for sports bars. We are staying at the double tree " hotel Roanoke".
forecast for tomorrows game
Hey all sorry I couldn't do an extensive write up, but the holliday festivities and grad school applications have gotten a tad in the way. Any who I have great news to bring all of those who will be at the game watching with me!
Temperatures are looking like they'll be hovering around 50 as this high pressure system keeps precipitation and rainfall out of the region. Expect lots of sunshine and a beautiful game with little to no wind. We have been kind of unfortunate a few times with weather at the games, but I fully expect tomorrows game to be damn near perfect. Expect little cloud cover and the only precipitation to be coming in on the drive home the next day!

Bowl Initiation
My nephew applied early decision to VT and has been deferred to spring. If he gets in, he really wants to join The Corps. Given that we are in Northern Virginia for the holidays, I offered to take him to the bowl game, and he jumped at the chance. His grandfather (my late father-in-law) was a colonel in the Army and is buried at Arlington. My dad served in the Navy in WWII and was a '49 Hokie. We have lots of military tradition in the family, so I figure The Military Bowl should have good karma. I know what to do at Lane Stadium, but I do not know anyone going to the game, and this will be my first bowl game ever. Ryan has never been to a bowl game, VT game...not even a college football game.
ESPN article about Frank coaching from the booth

Just wanted to share what I wrote in the comments section of the article after some people were saying Frank needs to go...I realize many people here feel the same way about that.....and i totally respect those opinions......i really do.....but i also respect my opinion...which is posted below.....take it for what it's worth...simply the opinion of a fan who will never have any effect on what does or does not happen in the grand scheme of VT football
