Maybe my comment was directed more at Arkansas as a whole than just Fayetteville.
Virginia is ranked the 7th best state (18th in health care, 7th in education, 25th in economy, 35th in infrastructure, 9th in "opportunity", 8th in fiscal stability, 9th in crime & corrections, and 18th in natural environment according to US News)...on the flip side, Arkansas is ranked 45 (49th in health care, 42nd in education, 43rd in infrastructure, 47th in "opportunity", 32nd in fiscal stability, 21st in crime & corrections, and 19th in natural environment)
Virginia is easily a better place to raise a family.

Personally, just my opinion, he's got VT right where he wants us, loaded with his guys, on an upward trajectory, got damn near the entire team returning next year...why would he want to toss all that aside? Maybe Arkansas can pay better, I dunno, I do know that Fuente isn't exactly going pay-check to pay-check in Blacksburg? But like you said, they are gonna want results immediately.
Plus who the fuck would rather live in Fayetteville Akansas over Blacksburg Virginia?
And this is why (aside from talent and coaching), we have the advantage. They have been thinking about this game since November 23, 2018. I think that's the problem with announcing it before the season starts. Everyone has been preparing for the post-Bud era, surely Whit has made some contacts (hell, some rumors are that the next guy is already locked down - I personally doubt it)...makes things trickier if he were to decide he wanted one more year, seeing the potential of this team when firing on all cylinders. That's not to say that Whit wouldn't accommodate it if he did change his mind, bur say for a minute that the rumor is true, that we've got the next DC already determined...do you cut him loose, sacrifice your potential DC of the future, next however many years, for one more ride with Bud? It'd be a tough spot
You know what? Fuck it. It's disappointing that the streak was ended, but it was bound to happen eventually. Now the pressure to keep it alive is gone.
We're trending up, things didn't go our way today but this team can be special next year and in the future.
Not to mention, 18-2 over the last 20 years is still complete and utter dominance. Let them have their year of fun. We'll get it back next year, no doubt.
