Word on the street (#sources) is that CBS/Turner might be doing a similar multichannel broadcast for March Madness in the coming years. For the final four and championship games they are planning to have one channel broadcast with the usual "unbiased" commentators and the other two channels with commentators from each school. For example, a championship game between VT and UK would be on CBS with unbiased commentators, TBS with VT commentators, and TNT with UK commentators. I think its a great idea and will make watching the games that much more exciting. It will be fun hearing the home commentators go crazy over a huge dunk. If you switch over to the other team's channel it will be satisfying to hear the opposing commentators moan and groan after your team converts a big play.

Kline needs to work on blocking but his pass catching is unreal. I know SL wants to use 2 TEs. Could create great mismatches. Im loving the competition.

Well done on all points. I have seen Smith's mentality change when at point. He seems to be trying to distribute the ball more. He does have serious hops and with that his mid range pull up game is big time.

For all of the blue smoke Texas blows about being the top job in college football, it looks like a lateral move with more $ attached. I'd look at an offer with a very cautious eye, if I were Jimbo.
This will actually work out for me. My fiance is a Boilermaker and I've dragged her to about 15 games in Blacksburg over the past 3 years without once going to West Lafayette. Every time she suggests going to a Purdue game, I say "But...but...the Hokies are playing." Now I get to make her happy while seeing my team play...win win!
It never seems like we get the front end of a home and home unless the team is on a considerably lower "tier" than us. With that time frame, it seems likely we would never see Purdue for the follow up date with the way conference schedules changes, etc
Yeah, yet another away game... and Purdue gets a big < fart noise > from me. What happens if they bail on the return game in Blacksburg? No doubt there is a buyout but that would be a kick in the nuts.
Gotta say it's a step up from JMU or some directional though.

Yeah the closest we get is ASU-USC in '96 when they scored a TD and recovered a fumble for a TD setting up 48-35. If only they were in 3OT when you have to go for 2....
Don't see Jimbo taking the job till after the national title game(if at all), and it would be awfully risky for Texas to wait that long (without a promise from Jimbo) because what happens if other quality candidates are scooped up before Jimbo tells them even after the NCG I am staying at FSU. Because of that risk (and FSU is no slouch itself) I don't see him going to Texas (in my humble opinion).
I have to disagree. I see Texas being rumored to be targeting all of the top 10 or 15 college coaches. Surprised they haven't said Les Miles or Chad Morris or someone yet.
On another note, Chad Morris may actually be a great under the radar hire. Texas would never do it, but interesting idea.

I think the bigger question is how the hell is #1 VT not playing #1 FSU to figure out who is #2?! Boy the BCS sure knows how to go out with a bang and the biggest controversy ever!
Funny that it says we lost by 14 in OT considering that there is only 1 possible way for that to occur which is for the other team to score a TD, go for 2 and convert, and then recover a turnover and return it for a TD. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that no overtime game has ever been won by 14 points.

Okay, so to lose by 14 points (not 13) in OT, Syracuse would have to score a TD first, eschew the PAT for a 2 point conversion then score a defensive TD.
Its not impossible, but it's about as improbable as VT being #1 in the first place.
Just to add, I generally hate speculation, but I just found this to a direction I didn't expect to even be a possibility.

I heard this was a way to reduce Sands buyout at Purdue (joking).
This is a solid idea. We have added a game versus a Big Ten school rather than a lower-conference team to provide a slight uptick to our strength of schedule for our 2015 national championship run. My only complaint would be that we are traveling a long way on this. Hopefully the game is followed by an off week or a sub-par opponent.
Maybe they will be better in 2015 than they were this year, a year in which they finished 1-11 with lots of blowout losses.
