# | Bitter blog - ESPN's Todd McShay weighs in on Thomas, Exum, Gayle's draft stock As a reporter he can direct the conversation into any direction he wants. When discussing NFL top prospects from this team, Kyle should be the first player mentioned, not completely excluded.....C'Mon Man!
no you're completely missing it...first of all, it's YOUR opinion that Kyle is the best NFL prospect on this team..and I don't think you're qualified to make that decision. You're more than welcome to your own opinion. And you're welcome to disagree with other peoples' opinions. But this ISN'T Andy's opinion. He's just giving us the info he was able to get. He had limited time and it sounds like he was only able to ask one question. He tried to get a broad answer by asking who else would be considered and that was McShay's opportunity to mention Kyle, if in fact he's the best prospect as you think. Get off your high horse and don't trash AB for doing his job.
That's because the SEC wasn't viewed as the be-all-to-end-all in CFB back in 2004. That was reserved for USC.
it doesn't sound like he had the opportunity you speak of. He was limited to one question. He's probably catering more to his readers' questions and not being self centered like you're suggesting he should be. I'm sure the biggest questions he gets are "Will LT be drafted and where?" and "How has the injury and time off affected Exum's draft stock?"
he has an obligation to answer those questions first, regardless of who he thinks is the most talented player on the team. It's not Andy's fault that readers are less interested in Kyle. You have NO idea what Andy Bitter thinks because HE NEVER ONCE SAID WHAT HE THOUGHT. He's just putting out the info he can glean from the "analysts"
Well, they draft QBs and switch them to other positions all the time. Ronald Curry and Antwaan Randle El to WR (among many others, Denard Robinson to RB. And for what it's worth, Josh Nesbitt to DB.
He'd have to learn how to block NFL guys VERY quickly, though.

# | Bitter blog - ESPN's Todd McShay weighs in on Thomas, Exum, Gayle's draft stock Bitter didn't take advantage of the opportunity to give Kyle much deserved mention.
Again, my point is Kyle's stock is way up. LT's stock is way down. All due to performance on the field. Recognize that!
Sounds like Todd McShay disagrees with you. If Kyle isn't even on the radar for the draft right now, I doubt that he'll end up being the "top VT prospect for this draft." I think he'll end up in the league, but may not be drafted initially. The guy is crazy talented, but size matters in the NFL (see Horse's point above).

# | Bitter blog - ESPN's Todd McShay weighs in on Thomas, Exum, Gayle's draft stock I disagree. I think the only way that happens is if Exum's knee doesn't prove to be healed and he struggles at the combine. Exum has great physical coverage skills that you need in the NFL and has a bigger body. Don't get me wrong. Kyle is fantastic, but Exum has a higher pro potential. I only hope that both of them get drafted, but I think it's feasible that we see at least 4 Hokies on defense drafted this year.

# | Bitter blog - ESPN's Todd McShay weighs in on Thomas, Exum, Gayle's draft stock Kyle is faster than Exum, and will be drafted before Exum.....my point is he had the opportunity to discuss talent and missed out on discussing the top VT prospect for this draft. Sounds like our own fans under appreciate his talent.
Most likely not. From my experience if the game is on a major network and your IP is within the the region it's blacked out. So if you're in the blue you have to watch it on ABC. However, you could go through a proxy or an IP spoofer to trick WatchESPN to think you're not on the east coast or in Russia.
I don't think it was a matter of choosing based on talent. I suspect he chose to ask about Exum, Gayle, and Thomas because (1) those were the guys generating draft buzz last year and (2) they chose to come back for their senior seasons.
As far as why he wasn't discussed, Bitter mentioned in the comments that the conference call wasn't very long.
Another VT writer got the first question in about Logan. I was next, asked about Exum and if there was anyone else worth monitoring. McShay only mentioned Gayle
So it's not necessarily a perceived lack of talent keeping him out of the discussion.
Welcome! Turkey leg for joining.
- I used to dread Beamer going for it on 4th down. It would usually happen when we were in the red zone and he wanted to impose our will. Well, we almost never did and would routinely get stopped on, say, 4th and 1 from the 15. Now, I'd like to see us Logandozer our way into the end zone.
- Turnover margin didn't win us a game against Duke. Neither did the domination on defense or the domination in running statistics. I think it'll be a tough out no matter what.

# | Bitter blog - ESPN's Todd McShay weighs in on Thomas, Exum, Gayle's draft stock Kyle's too light to be a linebacker and not quite fast enough to be a CB. Could find a place somewhere as a safety, but he's never played there before. Kyle is a spectacular player in college, and perfect for Foster's system, but probably doesn't project really well to any position in the league.
The Red Sox parade is tomorrow morning, so the usually empty stadium will be even more empty. It will look like a game in Durham....when VT isn't playing. Or a uva spring game.
Why are you a better judge of talent?
Right. If we win the ACC, even with a loss or, maybe even two, to high-level OOC opponents (say, Alabama and Ohio State), the playoff still becomes feasible.
This kid wins both Halloween and the Internet. When are we holding the celebration ceremonies?

# | Bitter blog - ESPN's Todd McShay weighs in on Thomas, Exum, Gayle's draft stock I have learned from this article Bitter is no judge of talent because Kyle Fuller wasn't even discussed. Kyle's stock is way up. Scouts really didn't know what he could do due to injuries last year. Healthy this year, he has played outstanding. I would expect him to be the first or second CB taken in the draft. Compare that to LT probably not even being drafted at all. Bitter doesn't get it with LT. There is outstanding talent on VT's team and the initials aren't LT.
Bitter mentioned today Miller could be a potential draft chose. LOL. He doesn't see talent, at all. But he does a good job reporting on the team. I will give him that.
Last year she was way too pro Logan Thomas, pom pom girl for him when it was obvious the guy was having a horrid season. Now what a change. She lets him have it in this article.
Wonder how long it would take this gamelan to be exposed at the college level? I'm thinking 5 minutes.
I was going to post something snarky, but then I reread that article and she definitely needs to stop using the lunar cycles as her calendar.
-I believe Beamer will go for it on 4th down more often within the 40 due to the inconsistency at kicker as well as a good defense that can work with a shorter field.
-Winning the turnover margin has kept us in games and this is very important in this tough matchup.
-I have trust in Foster in keeping fresh bodies in the game and not giving up big plays on the ground. We may end up with less TOP in this game, but with lots of substituting we will do fine.
-Finally, as everyone has already mentioned, the running game must pick up to open up the play action pass and give Logan and little space to work with. I would love to see a 100 yard rusher besides Thomas tomorrow.

We get it. You like Kyle. We all do.
You can ask AB directly why he didn't specifically mention Kyle. No need to start three threads here saying the same thing.
