And a turkey leg for you sir...brilliant logic
I hate Miami, but if the NCAA waited this long just to take away what has been a great season for them so far, then that is seriously messed up. I don't care who the team is.
But likely they are just going to say that all is forgiven because they probably were too inept to get any real dirt on them in the first place.
Heads up for Jordy to snatch his first TD ball from Boykin's hands and hold it for him while pushing him to his first leap.
No, BC always plays hard. They played other teams hard this year.
Schlabach is a tool. I'd like to buy him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thought he was worth.
This shouldn't come as a shock. They trot PAWWWWL out during college gameday now as a regular to talk about the SEC. They don't do that for any other conference. It's rather ridiculous that they have a such a strong bias, but then again all media has a bias so I guess it's to be expected.
So BC is the Jigglypuff of the ACC.
I want to see Dook beaten.
I want a shutout and the offense clicking down the tracks like an old steam locomotive on a downgrade.
I want all the guys healthy, hungry and happy.
I want a fun season.
This was my first thought when I saw this photo of Frank in the sunglasses. He looks dead.
I hear that. I intentionally separated the mascot/icon/symbol from the name. The Cleveland Indians icon/mascot/symbol reduces a race to a caricature, while the Redskins icon is serious. I'd rather have the serious looking symbol than the cartoon. The Chicago Blackhawks are kind of middling between them, I think it is relatively respectful likeness, but still sort of cartoony and smiling.
Whenever this topic comes up, I'm reminded of an article I read (which I failed to find to reference above) where the use of the name Redskins was popular among schools with a high percentage of Native Americans in their population, a fact that I thought important in the debate. If I find the article, I'll post a link.
EDIT: Here I mean that the high school mascot and team name was actually "Redskins"
There is a lot of talk on this post about how good FSU is and how tough they would be to beat in the ACCCG. I'm just going to leave this like here:
It's Mark Schlaybawwl... obscenely gratuitous and slurpy SEC fellating is to be expected. That's what he is paid to do.
That said, I felt like this "article" was tamer than what I expected.
Definitely a strong return of Exum and I'd love love love to see a score run-up. Pittsburgh wasn't too scary of a win but I'd love to see a wider margin victory.
We also just started medicine and don't have a law program.
I thought so at first, but couldn't find anything substantial. Just kind of seems they give Scholarships to go to FSU and work closely with the tribe.
I don't think this is true. The at large bid does not necessarily need to come from the ACC, nor does the loser of the ACCCG get an automatic bid. The winner of the ACCCG automatically gets the Orange Bowl unless they are selected for the MNC. If so, the Orange Bowl gets a preemptive selection prior to the selection order of the BCS bowls for at large bids:
Rose gets Big Ten and PAC12 Championship game winners
Orange gets ACC Championship game winner
Sugar gets SEC Championship game winner
Fiesta gets Big12 champion
Two teams are selected using the BCS poll/formulas for the MNC. The two bowls that lose their tied-in participant get to choose "replacement" selections first. Usually, the bowls go for a conference tie-in, but not always. This cuts both ways. Illinois was chosen as a replacement for OSU one year in the Rose Bowl, a move decried by many because Illinois wasn't very good (but still managed to find their way into the top 14 of the BCS standings, a requirement for an at-large team, except Notre Dame and mid-majors have slightly different selection requirements as far as ranking is concerned). Illinois got pummeled by USC. The Rose will always try to get a team from their chosen conferences, but TCU was forcibly selected to play Wisconsin when Oregon played Auburn a few years back in the MNC due to a contract clause tripped that year.
If no second team from a conference qualifies for an at-large spot after the first conference team is chosen for the MNC, the bowl has free reign to offer any qualifying team the spot. If a mid-major achieves, I think, the top 12 or 16, they, I believe, are guaranteed an automatic berth somewhere. They are usually the last team taken in the at-large selection order, giving the shaft to some poor bowl. The AAC winner this year will be automatically given a spot, even though they will only be taken as an at-large.
For us West Coasters, the noon games are somewhat nice. I get up at 6am, get a bunch of stuff done with Gameday in full swing and the wife and kid still asleep. By 9, got all my yard work done, its usually like 72 degrees out and gorgeous, and the kid is going down for a nap right around the end of the 1st quarter. Time to crack a beer, sit out and watch the game and my wife leaves me alone.
This has to be why he threw a punch-he couldn't take being 0-4 against us anymore.
but..tailgating....
11:55, why the wait?
If we didn't have those stupid preseason polls the SEC might have only 4 teams ranked instead of this absurd 7.
I believe the rule is that the at-large team must be within 1 loss of the division winner to be considered. Provisions like this allow for the Orange Bowl to pick a team like VT or Miami instead of getting stuck with a turd like GT in case the ACCCG winner goes to the National Title and a team other than VT wins the Coastal.
this, so much
HE PUT DA TEAM ON HIS BACK DOE
