I grew up an Air Force brat and moved around a lot. My parents both went to small schools in PA. We moved to PA before I started 8th grade, and I decided shortly afterwards to leave as soon as I finished high school. A guy I went to high school with went to Tech (and did ROTC with my husband), so I stopped there for a tour before heading off to Charlottesville and Williamsburg. I fell in love with the campus and felt like belonged there. When it came time to apply, Tech was my first choice, and I jumped about screaming like the teenage girl I was when I got my acceptance letter.
I pledged my sorority spring semester of freshman year and never looked back. My husband and I met drunk at a party in Foxridge in March of 2009a few months after changing my major for the third time. We had a Hokie wedding and plan to raise lots of Hokie babies, many of whom will go on to fame and fortune in the NFL.
I like: my husband, the Hokies, Denver Broncos, Atlanta Braves, Dr. Pepper, and hating uva and miami.
Possibly, but it's also likely that Loeffler didn't want to go back to the well one too many times too. What we were doing was working pretty well and was enough to win.
Or if Bonner picks that damn floater off instead of jumping the receiver early.
To be fair to him, he probably expected a rocket into the receiver's hands, and the floater messed with his timing as he clearly double-pumped on the swat attempt. Still though.
Mama Giraffe was probably pissed when she read that.
I hope you typed that in the Sarcastica font....

EDIT: Thanks Blue Collar Hokie. I was going off memory and clearly left out an important part.
I had a similar issue/compromise when Danny Coale was playing for us.
At the moment of the first turnover we caused, I felt really comfortable for the rest of the game like we were always just out of reach from them. I don't think I have ever felt that way playing against Paul Johnson.
WANT TO LEARN HOW TO CHOP BLOCK?
At Georgia Tech,
YOU CAN DO THAT!
"Out of my way! I have havoc to wreak!"
I don't know why, but I thought I'd just be looking at a clip of the game when I clicked on this......brilliant work sir!
My girlfriend asked if she could break up with me and go with Kyle. I said absolutely! But under the condition I could hang out with them.
Joshua Nesbitt was hurt and did not play. Tevin had not arrived, so the backup was a pure pocket passeer, not a Paul Johnson recruit.
Hmmm - let's see - The Hoos have given up 75 points in three games while Tech has given up 79 points in five games. Yep, those Hoos are on to something, aren't they?
We need Joel Caleb to beef up some. He lined up to block GT's #15 and just bounced off the guy who then took Logan down.
"She sure does have a puuurdy mouth!"
I remember one screen to Mangus that they totally blew up but I kept waiting for plays similar to the first TD to DJ. They were flowing so hard to the ball it would have worked again. Does anyone else think we considered the game "put away" and we decided to not show our hand with other looks, plays? Either way great win!
Not in High school. All I did was wrestle. Good 'Ol Union Camp paper mill! International Paper bought them out and they shut down a few years ago. Damn near crushed the community. I love franklin, Small town feel and great place to raise a family. I'd like to retire there someday but I don't think it's in the cards. What school did you go to?
This is what makes him so great.
LOVE this and Frank Beamer, although I've always have and will be a defense girl... BUD!
In regulation*
Maybe it's time for Logan to move back to tight end?
Thanks!
I'm sort of new here, to posting that is, although I'm an avid reader. I was born and raised in Southwest VA in a little town northwest of Roanoke. Although I have 10 siblings and was child number 6, I was the only girl to grow up in the middle of 7 brothers. I am still a Daddy's girl, although he passed away almost 10 years ago. It was from him and my 7 brothers that I learned to love and appreciate sports, especially football. I still relate more with my brothers than I do my sisters. LOL
At the time I was, what they would consider, the black sheep of the family. Can you imagine being a girl growing up in the midst of all male UVA fans, with the exception of one brother who was an AL fan? Fortunately for me, the Football Gods were good to me and my Hokies! Although I did not go to VT, (I was a Jerry's kid at LU) I have always considered myself a Hokie, I think growing up the way I did, I earned it. Ha ha.
I have spent the better half of my adult life living as far north as PA and as far south as AL. In the 7 years I lived in Atlanta, I never missed an opportunity to watch the Hokies, whether they were at the GA Dome, or at GT. We made our final move in April, back to Virginia, and I could not be happier. I am a proud Mom of 3 boys. My oldest is a Junior at VT and the younger 2 still at home.
I was the lucky Mom Antone Exum gave his tickets to for the WCU game. This was the first year I thought I'd miss a game. (Not that I wanted to, the economy being what it is and my husband losing his job, while still paying for the oldest to go to Tech; taking the kids to a game was a luxury I couldn't see spending the money on.) Exum giving me his tickets was a blessing, he'll never know just how much. That game was my youngest boys first game at VT/Lane. I enjoyed watching him jump to Enter Sandman, shaking my keys on 3rd down, and yelling H-O-K-I-E-S, HOKIES more than anyone could. In the eyes of a 7 yr old, we played like "Professionals" that game, (If he only really knew) LOL.
So that's me in a nut shell. I enjoy reading all the posts and really need to make an effort to post more. GO HOKIES!

I think the biggest thing to remember is that this game was close too. Gah Tech could still run their normal offense. They didn't have to worry about playing catch up too much until mid way through the 4th quarter. The Miami and BYU games were blow outs.
