I loved all their false starts last night, and I would say a lot of it had to do with Kyle Fuller being ON IT the first few drives for them. Their O line was wanting to make sure they didn't get jumped, but Kyle had their number. I have no doubt that Foster was like, "They're going to go low...that's what they do. Jump over them, and they got nothin'!"
There were a couple times I saw Kyle actually leap over the guard and tackle. BRILLIANT!
That last part is probably not far from true.
"Hey, let's show our appreciation for the troops by beating up on a military school! What's that team located next to that small Lexington private school that looks kinda like ours; oh yeah, VMI! What a win that was for our mighty Cavs! Best defense in the country, and Mike London is the greatest Virginia coach ever!"
The streak lives on!
I don't believe Whitfield's coaching hurt Logan at all, even going into last year. The lack of a robust recruiting on the offensive side of the ball sure did, as did the lack of competent coaching all around.
Everyone did their part, though the FGs still aren't where they need to be. Yeah, I think the ACC is loathing the VT game on their schedule. Please, please let us get another shot at Clemson; I might even have relocated to Charlotte for a new civilian job by then!
Can we keep George Whitfield out of the stadium/off camera? It can't be just a coincidence that as soon as he gets on camera our offense stalls and Logan gets sacked.
please give me more turkey legs so I can upvote this incredible comment
My favorite quote from the GT site:
"We beat our brains against a brick wall named Hopkins. ing brilliant gameplan."
They should have realized if the Tide broke against that wall of Hokie Stone, a swarm of bees would fare far worse. I'm really digging this team and while I know Logan's performance last night doesn't guarantee similar performances like that in the future, I'm personally willing to say that I'm very pleased the team has a leader of Logan's caliber and that I am very proud to have him as part of the Hokie QB lineage. Go Hokies!

Teams defend us by taking away the run and making Logan have to beat them. Well.....we can see how that worked.
I loved the game plan. Logan really seemed to be in-sync with his receivers tonight and through those 5-15 yard passes beautifully. I hope UNC and Miami took note of Logan and do a little bit more to stop the pass so we can open up our run game a bit more.
All the Leal people seem to be quiet thus far after this win and rightfully so. If you still think Leal is a better option after that performance, which Logan was hurt for and hadn't practiced, then you need to wake up. Logan proved to everyone why he's our starting quarterback last night.
The D was AWESOME!!!! Every time we play GT it seems like they are just one drive away from figuring us out. Last night was the first time I've ever felt like they had no chance agianst our defense. Fayscon is just a monster and I love it. Big Bro Fuller did an awesome job playing WHIP last night. He really got in on their O-line and just caused havoc.
I must say, Journell does seem like a nice kid and he means nothing but good. I just think he has some inner-demons that he needs to work out. All that aside, we cannot keep missing field goals and he missed what could have been a huge one last night. Gotta work that out.
Overall, that's a great win and I think we opened some eyes to how good this team can be. Let's go get UNC!!!
Collins was a 3-star. Maddy was a 2-star.
That's amazing - both that our coaches are that good and that the ratings outfits are that bad. Bet Rivals would love to put a couple more retroactive stars on Facyson.
masterpiece.
This was one for the ages.
Who knows who/what will happen for next game or the rest of the season, but...
I love this team.
i would love an excuse to go to Athens
love Kyle's reaction when he sees beamer
I would so be there for that one.
I've seen that #8 in on a lot of plays this year (no, I'm not watching Greg Boone film), and rarely was I disappointed.
French on point, as always.
I remember Kam Chancellor getting burned numerous times in college and thinking that he was weak in pass coverage, but that is largely due to the aggressive nature of Bud's scheme. Kam has proved at the NFL level that he's a great football player with a great mind for the game.
Wow swype combined with a horrible hangover without a proofread equals terrible at making your point.
Only 1 near INT and that was when he was trying to get away from a sack. There were a couple times he either took off to run or made a quick throw too early when he had receivers coming open but for the most part he actually looked the part of a highly touted QB.
To be honest of you watch both PI Calls the 1 on the end zone he was playing text book D. You are taught to swat at ball with front arm and have your back arm behind receiver to wrap him up if you miss. If you jumps that route and they throw it over his head then he is wrong for playing too aggressive according to most people. The 2nd PI call was just severely under thrown although he should have turned his head out want a terrible breakdown. Better than getting burned for a 50 yard touchdown. I will now I do think he could work on turning his head and locating the ball better. I don't think it was as bad as it seems.
Didn't want to make a post dedicated to this, but someone on the GT site took the time to look up the ratings of our defense coming out of high school. The only players rated higher than a 3 star were Jarrett and Kendall fuller. Maddy, Collins, and Trimble all were not rated. We have the best coaches in the business if you ask me.
When I was reading that, all I could think of was Al Gore on South Park.
"UVA's D is like, the best, you guys!! I'M SUPER CEREAL!! WHY WON'T ANYONE LISTEN?!!!"
Man those Hoos are delusional.

I don't think this is possible any more. Unfortunately they built this big scoreboard thing in the center of the area where they'd have to put the field. Maybe they could squeeze a field in somehow though.
