We gave up more total yards than our average in total and rushing, but when you consider the opponent it was incredible.

The counterpoint to this is that Fuller getting in there and disrupting things on the first drive (and forcing a fumble because of it) likely put their O-Line on guard for the rest of the quarter at least, then they started changing things up to keep VT from jumping, then they made more mistakes.
I really do think that Kyle Fuller set the tone for our defense on the first drive, and the entire defense continued that tone for the rest of the game. It was really fun to watch.
I could name like 15-20 that I'd give that accolade, but Scott Tenorman was definitely up there.
The switch last year was to create more depth. He knows the defense and could play safety. He has safety size. I would like to see him replace Bonner as well. Bonner gets beat more than, well almost as much as UVA does. He doesn't turn and fine the ball.
Redman seems to be next guy up. McCray looks like an afterthought now but it just looks like Redman has passed his by. Excited for Malleck to come back next year.

I think the false starts were a thing of GT's own doing. Normally when they put their B-backs in motion, they always snap it when the B-Back is right behind the QB. Last night they put him in motion, then he stopped and set himself beind the QB. I think they were trying to throw us for a loop and mess up our jumps and draw some offsides, but I think they threw themselves more than anything.
HAHAHAHA.
But just another reason for me to hate Mel Gibson. Don't stab the horses, Mel.

Sorry again guys. I really shouldn't post on here when drunk and emotional after a win. This wasn't meant to be a shot at any idividual because ultimately, we're all Hokies and I love you all.
But Logan did play well and I just hope that this makes a point to everyone that Logan is our guy. He played hurt and with little to no practice and just looked great. He's a mixed bag sometimes but he is one of the biggest competitors I have ever seen.

I always thought Kam was being used as a free safety because he was the best option there, but I also thought he would have been better as a strong safety. I think that is what he plays now for Seattle, no?
In fact, can anyone recall who the best free safety is that we've had recently, as far as man-coverage is concerned? I seem to recall liking DJ Parker a lot, but I don't remember why.
It was a short week, and we pretty much had to do everything hastily. I think the roster and playbook will be opened up more, as the season goes on.
