YoutubeTVs deal with Disney expires Friday, December 17th. I received the below email.
I would like to give a thank you to all the coaches at Virginia tech who believed in me as well as the community thank you for all the support the everyone showed but it was a very hard decision but I had decided to de-commit from the university of Virginia. tech.@RecruitGeorgia— Malcolm Jones (@mapp_302) December 13, 2021
Appears to be Michigan State bound based on CBs.
"university of Virginia. tech"
I've had three different screen names during my TKP career: My current one, ChoppinWood (after Aaron Moorehead's Twitter catchphrase after landing a recruit) and StineyFTL. So this one feels a little weird.
It's time to bring Bryan Stinespring back home.
With the announcement of a 32-year-old offensive coordinator, we badly need grizzled veterans who know the recruiting footprint and can help guide a budding star-in-the-making. Bowen needs his Tom Hagen. Stinespring can fill that role without posing as a threat to Bowen (unlike the Claeys/Hamilton dynamic).

Guess that answers the questions around who will be coaching TEs.
FYI (leg to gobble gobble chumps) Mark is a sports talk radio host in Louisville.
Virginia Tech is expected to hire Jacksonville Jaguars assistant coach Tyler Bowen as offensive coordinator at the conclusion of the Jaguars' season, sources tell @On3sports.Bowen worked with new Va Tech head coach Brent Pry at Penn State.https://t.co/Bu2WXKE9Bt— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) December 9, 2021

I think we've only seen the high level details so far. This Roanoke Times article outlines things a bit more.
Highlights:
It is evident that there are lots of players that are hurt and tired at the end of the regular season and ready for a break. The incentive of missing Christmas with family and playing in a bowl game isn't much.
There are also players who are in a position to get paid to play football and every practice and game is just a risk for injury with limited potential for changing the perceptions of NFL GMs. I understand why these players are opting out.
What would you think about:
1. Expand the playoffs to 16 teams (figure that out however nuanced you want).
2. Allow teams to schedule 1 (or 2??) scrimmages in the spring.
I think he could've been considered one of the greats if the injury bug didn't bite him so hard. I'll always remember him for that pick-6 against ND to take the lead. Thank you for everything and go get paid!

Barring a last minute change, the expectation is for Virginia Tech cornerbacks coach Ryan Smith to be retained on Brent Pry's staff. Pry's defensive staff continues to come together!
Use this thread to discuss developments, rumors, and suggestions with respect to Coach Pry's staff and the football program.
Each new announcement gets its own thread, and I'll update the main post here to reflect those updates.

He mentions specifically an ankle injury that he thought would recover quickly, but has not yet.
