Because we're all Sunday morning quarterbacks.

Sorry if already posted somewhere but Mike Burnop just announced on the Greg Roberts radio show that Bruce Arians will be honored at Saturday's game with Middle Tennessee.

GO HOKIES!
Justin Fuente was named the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week. It goes to a "football coach who led his team to a significant victory during the previous week, while also embodying the award's three pillars of scholarship, leadership and integrity." #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) September 7, 2021
DEFENSIVE BACK – Chamarri Conner, Virginia Tech, Jr., CB, Jacksonville, Fla.
Led the Hokies' defense with eight tackles in Friday night's 17-10 victory over No. 10 North Carolina • Of his eight stops, six were solo efforts • Wore legendary coach Frank Beamer's No. 25 jersey and recorded an interception in the fourth quarter to seal the game • Interception was the fourth of his career.

24/7 had us at #15 as well.
We are still in the midst of Week 1, but the hits have started, as UCONN has announced the immediate parting of ways with Randy Edsall, instead of him finishing at the end of the year.
As more coaches get fired, I'll try to update this, but in the meantime, feel free to comment and update when you hear of a change.
This guy is night and day more relaxed with media when he wins vs loses.
Amare Barno made the first team and Chamarri Conner made the second team. Love to see the guys getting some recognition after the defensive performance last year.
Coach's stock is standing still at the moment.
ESPN up to their usual shenanigans. UNC still ranked above us according to them despite the convincing loss, not to mention ND and FSU haven't played yet.

I don't even know where to begin describing what I saw yesterday at the game. Getting in to the stadium was a cluster (East Side), ECU levels of fan behavior, and yet an entertaining experience.
Now I'm not sure if it was a digital ticket problem, poor planning, or just a late arriving crowd but the gates were opened with zero tickets being scanned! Students were literally jumping over 12 foot fences, barriers, and anyone getting in their way. With 15 minutes before kickoff the event staff must have said f**k it because it was a mad dash of people flooding in!
lane was Lane last night and getting international publicity for having a crazy game day environment has to be a plus for recruiting.

Going first on Friday and then kicking ass has its perks.
I don't want to drag down the FAM thread. There were things I saw that if they're fixed could lead to some serious improvement.
Because I like good news, I'll start there.
The running backs ran like they were determined to get yards. They seemed to find holes and capitalize. There were a few of our usual head scratchers where a back ran into a pile of blockers. But, it wasn't wide spread. And we didn't have much in the way of backfield dancing for no gain.
I have now watched the game twice (can't sleep.) I can't recall a game in the Fuente era where the QB had less than 3 QB keepers on inverted veer with jetsweep action, even when Willis was the QB. Well, tonight the Hokies only ran one true inverted veer, and Turner got it on the jet sweep. I can't recall a single QB keeper on the inverted veer... a first Burmeister didn't have to take those extra shots (although he did get carries on QB scrambles, zone reads, and one midline for a touchdown.
FAM!
LETS GO!!!!! Time to go ladies and gents. We've made it through the off season. Break out the Wild Turkey 101 and Maker's Mark, pour yourselves a stiff one, the Hokies play today!
