1) Keyshawn King broke a touchdown on the second carry of the scrimmage. He ran over the right side, which had Kaden Moore (guard) and Silas Dzansi (tackle) lined up over there. Cornelsen said Dzansi has responded well to working at right tackle the last couple of practices. Kaden Moore has been "bumped up." Cornelsen called out his good mental preparation and talent level, saying he earned a promotion during a good week of practice. Cornelsen said that Lecitus Smith has played some left tackle, Hoffman has played "everywhere" and Jordan has worked some as a center with the ones.

It's late August, and that brings with it a certain feeling. There's something in the air. I notice it every time I step outside.
Maybe it's just reduced humidity. Maybe it's a calm breeze that foreshadows Fall. Or maybe it's all in my head. I'm not sure.

Mack Brown and the Powder Blue Brigade will be here in two weeks. They will ride into town with their chins up, confident in their superiority.
After all, they had their way with us last year. At least offensively. And from their perspective, they fully expect to be better this year. Why wouldn't they?
It is worth noting there is a nice touchdown catch from D'wain Lofton to finish things up. I hope I am not getting overhyped from a couple of highlights, but every time I see a clip, I think "that is an adult."

adds some clarity to the defensive backfield. imo he was miscast at safety last year and he'd have his work cut out for him to claim a place in the two deep at corner.

This is definitely the make-or-break year for Justin Fuente. I think they have to do something really big here to win back the fan base and the culture. On film they still show some of that talent, some of that old magic. They're good on defense, not really spectacular. The issue for them is that they haven't recruited well, so it gets thin really fast. They have ones who can play with anyone, but that's it. Depth is a major issue for them.

To me this is much more in alignment with what the fanbase believe success looks like for the athletic department.
One of the biggest changes to the contract is related to the football team's performance.
Babcock's previous contract paid out compensation equal to one and one-half month's salary if Tech made a bowl game and two months salary if the bowl game was part of the College Football Playoff. He would earn an additional $25,000 if the team won the national title game.
Under the new terms, Babcock will receive $25,000 if the team makes a bowl game, $50,000 (noncumulative) if the Hokies make the FBS Playoff.

A short while ago, Virginia Tech announced that it will be moving to mobile tickets for the fall football season. I have to imagine this comes as a breath of fresh air to most fans, as this likely means the end of paper airplanes and overcrowding in North End Zone. More information at the link below:
