After spending half of the season on the bench working with the scout team, Mike Vick is named a starter again vs Kansas city . Many believed that Vick would've won the job if there was an open competition. Now, the jets are 1-7, they are finally giving the pro-bowl QB a chance to end the team losing streak. Say what you will about Mike Vick, the man is a survivor. But, is it too little too late to save Jets' season?

I know the fumbles in the third quarter on Thursday night were tough to watch, but I keep coming back to the same question about our lack of a vertical passing game during the past few weeks. Can we win without this? It seems that the current situation gives opposing DC's a decided advantage in terms of scheme. I know this sounds like a play-calling discussion, and maybe it is. I am truly just asking about what everyone thinks of our odds of winning any game over the remainder of the season if this element continues to be absent for us. To me, the inability to throw a quick strike to get big yards fast makes it very challenging to win any of our remaining games not played in Winston-Salem.
Virginia Tech opens as a 5.5-point favorite against Boston College. Wow, Vegas. Seems very generous. #Hokies— Andy Bitter (@AndyBitterVT) October 26, 2014
Vegas hasn't watched Tech play this season. For what it's worth, the last two weeks I've picked against Tech and will do so again this week. I think this a terrible matchup for the Hokies.
Geno had a disastrous 1st quarter with 3 interceptions against Buffalo. Hopefully Michael Vick takes full advantage of this opportunity.
Geno Smith: 2 completions to his guys, 3 to the other guys. #nyj— Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) October 26, 2014
It seems like the coach/player chemistry is really poor right now. The players just aren't responding and it appears from this fan's standpoint, that the coaches are really struggling to put the player's in the best position to succeed. If brewer is hurt, take him out or spell him throughout the game. Change it up! Show the players you are trying to lead to success! Gosh this feels worse than 2002 season.
Also want to call out that the refs called PSUs final time out when the coach and no one had signaled for it and also called tOSU's final time out because Urban approached a line judge.
Apparently we offered ex-Clemson QB Chad Kelly. Not sure how I feel about it.

Quarterback Chad Kelly (Scooba, Miss./East Mississippi Community College) tweeted that Virginia Tech offered.
Kelly transferred out of Clemson in the spring. He will enroll at the college of his choice in January.
For some reason, I can't find links on the ACC's website for either ACC Network game. If anyone else can find one, feel free to post it.
I've looked at the websites of the Virginia and DC stations that regularly carry ACC Network games.
These stations are carrying the VT game:
Blacksburg - Fox 21/27 (CBS has a noon game, so WDBJ can't carry ACC Network)
Richmond - Fox 35 (WRLH)
Tidewater - CW 27 (WGNT)
These stations originally had UNC/Miami in their schedule grid, but have now updated to BC/VT:
DC - My20 (WDCA)
Hooville - NBC 29 (WVIR)
There's a chance!
Just watch and enjoy.

The game next week is on the ACC Network at 12:30. This season the Hokies are 2-0 in this slot. I predict a win.
Anyone watching the other games this weekend.
Watching UNC and UVA. This announcer are hilarious. They are so pro-UVA it's comical. Saying things like "I love Mike London and would live of my kid wanted to play for him". On PI..."they threw a flag for incidental contact" (which isn't a penalty). UNC makes a good defensive play, "wow, he was there early".
Usually at the end of the season the coaches will sit down with the AD and/or Frank and discuss how they've done. Kind of like with most jobs, just a job reviewal to see where their career is heading. I'm interested in how those are going to go this year. Frank will not get fired, regardless of what you think about whether or not he should it's obvious by his extension that Whit has faith in him. Bud isn't going anywhere, not that anyone is suggesting he will. Loeffler's will be interesting.
Did ESPN do anything for the entrance? I was at the game but I'd be interested to see the video (it's not on ESPN3).
Dear TKPers (and the Hokie Nation),
I have been thinking all day, "How on earth did we lose that badly to Miami last night?" It was truly embarrassing and I had a lot of time to think about what could have caused it. Poor playcalling? Maybe. Poor coaching? Maybe. Poor preparation? Maybe. But these things don't really explain why we lost so badly. Surely we could have overcome some of these factors and at least played a closer game.
I was looking for something like this from Beamer after the Pitt Loss and no clue what would have made Friday morning any better though

this just seems like true feelings of this missed opportunities and true feeling of not winning
(First Forum Topic hope I didnt break any rules)
This was posted this morning by Andrea Adelson with ESPN.
"As bad as it has been for Virginia Tech, the Hokies have never before been 1-3 in conference play, calling into question not only why this team has failed to progress, but how much progress can definitively be made as long as Beamer is in charge."
