Was Virginia Tech cheated of a win against Pittsburgh?

Coach Beamer, Loeffler, and Michael Brewer suggested that Virginia Tech was cheated of a perfectly thrown TD pass against Pittsburgh. The touchdown pass Brewer threw to Isaiah Ford was a clean pass. The play was penalized for a delayed of game when one clock was at zero and the other showing 12 seconds. Beamer complained to the officials to no avail. VT only lost by a score. Had the officials allowed the play to stand, it would have been a different ball game.
It was a desperation game for the Pitt Panthers, but did they resort to treachery to end their losing slump or was it an honest mistake?

Line of Scrimmage Size

Our Kryptonite is large defensive lineman and offensive lineman. We have traditionally had an undersized defensive front and a less talented Oline.

It has been this was for 10 years, and after the NC game it should have been something we could have recruited better, but we ignore it year in and year out. It is the reason we lose to BC, and Pitt almost every year. It is the reason we lose to the big dogs whenever we play them.

It is so frustrating to watch this happen year in and year out and see no real changes made. Yes I know we have some studs coming in from last year on the Offensive line, but until it is fixed we are going to be a middle of the road team.

Goals that can still be accomplished

Wanting to look at the positives right now...we're 4-3 and haven't been under .500 this season.

Goals that this football team can accomplish this season:
-Beat Miami
-Beat UVA
-get to a bowl game
-win the bowl game
-have a record that is equal to or greater than last season. (8 wins)

And a couple of goals that could be accomplished with some help:
-win the Coastal
-have a better season than UVA.

I know it's a long shot to win the Coastal, but we were still in it up until the final week last year with three conference losses. I'm not holding my breath, but I'm also not saying never.

The Tragedy of Offensive Coordinator Scot Loeffler

WARNING: You may get triggered by reading this article, as it will undoubtedly describe some reoccurring frustrations you have seen with the offense.

Six Pick: Week Eight

The words for week 8 are:

parity:
the state or condition of being equal

great:
remarkable; exceptionally outstanding

In sports having the former means not having the latter. Parity also leads to picking whether it's straight up or ATS to being a tirefire. It makes for great drama, but there's something to be said to looking at something and being awed. Close games between flawed good teams, while fun, don't awe me. I want a great team. Yes, you can #getoffmylawn any time you please.

Parity isn't going to make it easy for these people ... that's actually great.

25 Non-Fullers On SI & CBS Sports Mid-Season All-American Team

Kendall was named to Sports Illustrated's Mid-Season All-American team after he was unjustly excluded from ESPN's. There were also 25 other players on the first team list, but none of them are a Fuller and Kendall could only be named to one spot. He's steadily working his way towards a Thorpe award in his career.

http://www.si.com/college-football/2014/10/15/college-football-midseason...

He was also listed on the CBS Sports Mid-Season All-American team. Again, the only Fuller, but this time there are 26 other non-Fullers.

weekly weather report...them

Ugh....Pitt....where do I even begin? As a student, Pitt was the beginning of quite the downward slide for us in football. The beginning of the end of a ten win streak that bested every other team in the country. When I watched that game I was utterly baffled that a team of our caliber, coming into the game ranked in the top 15 could be absolutely CRUSHED by a Pitt team that had lost to Youngstown state a few weeks prior. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?!?!?! Upon further research I discovered this wasn't a fluke, no this was the norm. Pitt is our beloved hokies kryptonite, and as I watch lightning cackle and thunder boom outside of my window, I wonder if this isn't an ominous sign for more of the same.

Get Your Mind Right: Pitt Edition

Dear friends,

I find that after a BYE week, it takes a little extra for me to get myself ready for game day. This week especially since it is a Thursday night game and many of us have work/class tomorrow. Just this morning I woke up and thought "hot damn, there is football tomorrow and I am not ready." Here is a collection of awesomeness that I gathered from last years game. Let's all take a minute and get fired up for tomorrows game against Pitt!

Love,
Dozer

OT: Young Kids at Lane Stadium

Morning Everyone, I have a question for those of you with younger kids: How old were they when you first brought them to Lane? My oldest is 4 and I really want to take him to a home game this fall but my wife is afraid the noise will be too much for him and I am trying to convince her otherwise. What has worked for those that took their kids? Noise Canceling Headphones? Earplugs? Any tips or advice (other than tell him to MTFU ;) ) would be appreciated.

Battle of Bristol hype video

A year after a contract was signed for the largest football game ever, the Battle of Bristol now has a hype video. Sadly, it wasn't made by Billdozer, but it's still pretty exciting. Enjoy!
