A little bit of both. He has come out publicly and said that he is still looking at other schools. He said this before Kiffin was fired (who was probably the biggest reason he committed there) so I'd only imagine that he is still looking at other schools. And USC is trying to get Josh Rosen (number 1 QB in the 2015 class) so if he commits there I couldn't imagine any scenario in which Sills sticks. I think if he does decommit we could end up as one of his favorites if not the one he chooses.

Ford will never have the measurables for the NFL to be clamouring for his services. He'll be here all four years, but he has the makeup of a potentially impactful college QB. When I think of Ford's ceiling, I think of Kellen Moore.

I would have gone with a maple-flavored butter-cream icing, but chocolates not bad either. Hmmm..., I now have a birthday cake request to ask my wife. This will be glorious.

As much as I am a Logan fan, if he's selected in the 2nd round, that's going to be a recipe for disaster. I don't think he has NFL-starter material. His potential is off the roof, but you can tell he's not a gamer. His reads, both running and passing, aren't good. I don't think he handles blitzes well; his movement isn't great in the pocket and although he looks down field, he doesn't seem to find the open receiver. Unlike Rothelisberger, he can't throw well when tackled or held on to. Drops or not, he's a sub-60% pass-completer.

He's a hell of an athlete, but his deficiencies will prevent him from becoming an NFL starter. Much like Josh Freeman, his potential will always be greater than his realization.

Also, I should reiterate I'm a huge Logan fan. I would love nothing more than for him to become a complete QB and take it to a level that proves me dumb.

I can't believe I didn't mention this in the above post but...

Malzhan probably recruited 80% of the current Auburn team. That makes a HUGE difference as well. Loeffler has recruited 0% of the VT team playing meaningful snaps. It was a "here's what we have, come in and do what you can with it". I don't know that Malzhan could coax 30+ points per game outta this team as it's currently constructed TBH.

Do you think Derrick Hopkins has a shot in the NFL? He can make plays for sure, but isn't he a little short for the NFL?

Couple more reasons:
1. Loeffler's name will be on the line - he will need to put out an offense that he can put his signature on. Ford is his guy.
2. If Ford is truly great, you may not get 5 years out of Ford, so why redshirt.
3. Manziel, Winston, Hackenburg. True Manziel and Winston redshirted, but they probably would've started as true Freshman in a scenario where there wasn't an established starter already there.

Once you've had mahi-mahi, everything else is just fighting for second.
