I am OK with orange jerseys and white pants (as long as it's coupled with a maroon helmet), but the all-orange look doesn't suit us. There are other teams that have been doing it far longer and more regularly (Clemson, Miami, and Syracuse to name a few) and even UVA has been doing it pretty frequently this season. With all-orange, we lose who we are. Maroon as the dominant color is more indicative of VT, as few other schools use anything similar.

Yep. They reminded me too much of LOLUVA and MIAMI to like them. I don't think I would mind Orange Jerseys with lots of maroon incorporated into them along with maroon lids and pants. But Orange on Orange is no bueno

I'll believe it when I see it. I don't doubt Rogers motivation, but really? Our running game was inept, and forcing plays into coverage. I don't care what motivation you find, you have to play better

Eh, sure that probably had a small effect, but the bigger issue was that the NCAA badly botched the investigation because they are one of the most disorganized organizations in the world and can't get their shit together.
What are you talking about? Beamer was super aggressive. He went for it more times than I've ever seen Beamer go for it. The offense not scoring points ~= Beamer being passive
Basically you just described being the RF on a little league team. I guess Beamer must watch those 30 mins since he keeps saying he sees him hitting them in practice.
With them being of different skill sets, do you see us working out of many 2 TE sets next year since both are fairly solid receivers and blockers? It could definitely up possibilities with a 2 TE Ace formation or even empty back sets. Having those weapons will make our new QB, whoever he may be, more successful if he can exploit matchups.

I think angry Beamer is the new fat Beamer.
What worries me is that last year he was playing with a team with the talent level of an 8th ranked team in the country (currently). He posted a 3-8 record with that talent. I understand that he didn't recruit those players, but great coaches find a way to win, especially if your offense is supposedly a flexible 'multiple' one that changes based on the strengths and weaknesses of the opposing defense.
The one quote by Beamer regarding the hire of Loeffler that stuck out to me was: "I deal with what's real" or something to that effect. He then expounded on that by saying that he has heard nothing but good things about Loeffler and that's why he was comfortable making the hire. But what's more real than actual results; wins and loses?
We're just fortunate that our defense has come to play this season. If our defense was playing at the same level this first half of the year as it did last year, I cringe at what our W-L record would be at this point. And conversely, if we still had the old offensive coaching staff, I wonder if anything that's "real" changes at this point in the season. The defense is the only difference between our record this year and last year.
I'm a current student from Out of State. The game against UVA has no extra meaning to me, and it never really has. I'll gladly accept a win over them, but beating UVA does not come anywhere close to beating Miami for me.

I love our black unis, the gray ones are pretty cool as well. I don't understand the mindset of our uniform decisions. We haven't worn maroon on maroon in a while. Unis bring in recruits.
While I agree with you, if the team wasn't blaming losses on uniforms, they would have worn the all-black Pro Combat [Boise State game] uniforms again. Especially since Lester has noted multiple times that it is the favorite uniform of basically every visiting recruit.
I really don't understand the hate red for all orange uniforms. Like I have said before our colors are maroon and orange. Now I am all about maroon but maroon is nothing w out the orange accent. When the leaves turn maroon and orange there is nothing more beautiful to the human eye. This being said there needs to the right mix of each color. I believe Nike needs to step in and do something about this.
Also don't blame the unis for a lackluster performance.

On official recruiting trips, no matter the sport, the hosting VT athlete is given an envelope with per diem in it to spend on entertainment for the recruit.
The host player isn't expected to spend their own money if they order a pizza etc. There really aren't too many limits on what you can spend the money on (unless you're at Miami of course).
For instance, on my trip to VT we polished off the last of the cash by buying me a VT shirt and then going to Owens and loading up a BIG bag with candy (better than a beanie and a jacket IMHO).
